The Ramparts was everything advertised - beautiful, comfortable, spacious and charming. We were two couples and there was ample room for us and we could have had a few more join us. We stayed two weeks and even though we were heading to Paris, we were reluctant to leave Flavigny behind. It is a wonderful hilltop village deserving of its place as one of the most beautiful villages in France. Everyone was friendly and we felt welcome in town. We only hope we can go back one day!

Carolyn is very friendly and helpful and house is lovely. My only reservation is the lack of a comfortable sitting area. No problem for us as lovely weather but could be an issue if weather not so good.

It is difficult to summarise a stay in a mediaeval town with so much history, where a film made 22years ago thrust it into the limelight. We enjoyed every minute of our exploration of Flavigny. It was a joy to turm up a hill or go round a bend and appreciate the architecture from so many centuries ago. Our accommodation was quirky and interesting. We appreciated the tranquility. No traffic sounds. Just the birds and butterflies. Carolyn has been the most attentive host. Quick to respond to questions and the most information regarding the immediate area and places to go. We so appreciated the thick walls in the heat of 33 degree days. Magical place to stay. Thank you Carolyn.

Absolutely gorgeous house, beautifully restored to the highest standard. Beds super comfortable and lovely and cool in the heat. The garden is a delight. Carolyn could not have been nicer or more supportive and helpful. Walking is wonderful in the area and one can walk right from the house on dozens of well-marked paths. Flavigny is lovely, although one must be prepared to drive to shop and eat.

Our stay in Flavigny was a magical experience, and Maison des Remparts equally special! … Caroline’s stone villa is charming, comfortable , beautifully decorated and well accessorized! … Both my husband and I are looking forward to returning to experience Burgundy in greater depth!
