3-star gîte 8km Sarlat

What a great time we had at 'la maison girafe'. Our family (two adults, 2 kids (11 and 13) all enjoyed! The property is great and has everything you need. After visiting Germany and Rome, Dordogne and la maison girafe' were the perfect restful stop before moving on. The pool and ping pong table was a hit with the kids especially as we arrived in a heat wave. We loved having meals out back in the cozy terrace area. There are 3 chickens on the property and it was fun to spot them. The location is amazing. Can walk into the town of Carsac in 20 minutes where you can get groceries and wine. A short drive to everything in Dordogne. Our hosts were lovely and have truly created a beautidul space to live. Thanks for sharing it with us!

We had the most wonderful 10-day stay at this beautiful property in the Dordogne. Everything about our experience was perfect from start to finish. The house is immaculate, well-equipped, and truly a home away from home. The peaceful surroundings made it the perfect place to relax and unwind, while still being ideally located for exploring the stunning Dordogne region. The hosts were incredibly welcoming and helpful, ensuring our stay was as comfortable as possible. The attention to detail throughout the property—from the comfortable beds to the well-stocked kitchen—was excellent, and we had everything we needed for a relaxing getaway. We particularly loved spending time in the outdoor spaces, whether it was enjoying our morning coffee on the terrace or relaxing in the garden with a glass of wine in the evening. The serene views of the surrounding countryside were a dream. If you’re looking for a peaceful, relaxing, and comfortable place to stay in France, we highly recommend this property. We can’t wait to return!

My wife and i stayed at the Maison Girafe from May 9 through June 4 2024. In spite of sub optimal weather, the gite was spectacular. The covered sitting areas were perfect and enabled us to spend significant time outside in spite of the rain. The Gite itself was really well appointed, clean, modern and comfortable. In fact it was one of the best we have stayed in at any point in France. Perhaps the best part was how wonderful Fany and Guillaume were. They live on the property so are available if needed, but give you space as well if that is what you are requiring. Their little daughter was delightful and my wife and i looked foward to hearing her greet us when we would return home from our cycling adventures. Bottom line, this is an incredible place run by really wonderful and caring owners. I cannot recommend it highly enough. Bob and Nancy

We really enjoyed the very charming gîte. A combination of authentic elements but with all modern comfort and eye for ecology. The swimming pool was a great asset. We had a good hub here to explore the magnificent region. Fanny & Guillaume are good hosts.
