5mn Perfumeries Old Town, Free Small Parking

😊: We stayed three nights in this Airbnb in Grasse. First of all, a big thank you to the owners – they are very friendly, always available on WhatsApp, and even called us to recommend places to eat and visit. The apartment was clean, tidy, and well equipped, which we really appreciated. That said, there are important things future guests should know. The listing requires a minimum booking of three nights, which feels exaggerated, especially since Grasse itself does not offer much to do unless you use it as a base to travel around. For many visitors, one or two nights would be enough. The description says it is “5 minutes to the old town,” which is misleading. By car it may be possible, but walking takes at least 25 minutes – entirely uphill. This is something that really should be corrected in the listing. The apartment is in a residential complex with only a small view of other houses. The photos on Airbnb look larger than reality, likely due to wide-angle photography. The bedroom has no window, which makes it feel quite congested in hot weather. Arrival and check-in also felt like an escape-room challenge: after a long trip you first need to pick up the key from a mailbox, then open and park in a very tight underground garage, switch buildings and floors, find the right entrance, and finally reach the apartment. The instructions are clear in the PDF, but for a first-time guest it is still unnecessarily complicated. Another small improvement would be to provide kitchen basics such as salt, since the apartment is advertised for self-catering. Information about the swimming pool was missing, and we only discovered it ourselves. Four wristbands were provided for access, but no directions were given.. 😢: the owners are excellent, friendly hosts and keep the apartment very clean and professional. However, the 3-night minimum booking should be reconsidered, and the introduction about “5 minutes to the old town” should be corrected so guests have the right expectations. For short stays of 1–2 nights, this Airbnb works fine, but for longer stays the location and setup are less comfortable..

😊: The shower was excellent with shower gel provided. The washing machine was superb and plenty washing liquid supplied. There was a good coffee maker. Instructions for entry and getting keys etc were very detailed. There was plenty bedding and towels. 😢: Both the entry gate and the secure garage were wide open to anyone who wanted to come and go when we arrived, so initially caused us some concern, but someone closed them later on. We were woken by the police trying to get access to the stair at 8.10am the first morning. There were no instructions on how to find or access the pool so after a cursory look we just gave up as it wasn't that high on our priorities, given it was not 'private'. Private for me indicates its for me and my family use only, NOT the entire block! So that was misleading. Also, the air conditioning was a stand alone unit which vented out the livingroom window, and it you opened the window the polystyrene fell out (as we discovered when we were asking the Police what they wanted in for) The bedroom is an internal room with a fan, but no aircon. We found it too stifling and moved to the bed settee in the livingroom which was much more pleasant. The floors hadn't been washed, we discovered after our first shower that our bare feet got very dirty very quick. The owner messaged me after we left asking what we had done with the swimming bands or something, which we were oblivious to and had never used! (not having been able to find the pool!!) You had to take a lift up from the parking into one building, then exit that building and go into our own building to then get up to the flat. It was a bit faffy. The area was a bit dubious. We witnessed someone getting beaten up by a gang of guys up the road at 7pm on a Wednesday night. The day we were leaving the police were at the main doors again.

😊: The space was bright and clean. 😢: The bedroom got really stuffy in the night, my daughter was sweating in her sleep.
