A gorgeous, secluded, rustic farmhouse with heated pool and magnificent views

Large property with flexible accommodation to suit family & friends reunion. Large, deep and well maintained swimming pool. Substantial grounds on very steep hillside. Scree drive suitable for 4x4 access. Excellent size living rooms, dining room, bathrooms. Communication with owner excellent. Table tennis on site. Two local villages with bakeries, teamnis courts, one with a bar. Beautiful medieval Bastide villlage with Intermarché a little further afield. We had a fantastic three week holiday and this would auit those who enjoy outsoor living, aports, activities more than urban nightlife.

we had a fantastic stay in this beautiful country villa. so secluded, so peaceful, perfect for larking about with a large group of friends. we will be back.

We have stayed at La Gleyaire for 3 fortnights in recent years. We never repeat holidays but this place is special. It sits on a wooded ridge, airy and blessed by magical dawns and evenings. The house spreads informally up the ridge, built of local stone, with storybook-windows giving onto unforgettable landscapes. There are two beautiful long tables to eat at inside and another one outside. All the furniture is tasteful and tactile , this is a house out of a Merchant-Ivory film , a house which inspires you to relax in a way you had forgotten. There are lots of good books (no Jeffrey Archer) there and local maps and guides. We walked the Camino from Lauzerte to Moissac. There seem to be roomy bathrooms all over the place with actual baths not just showers. The two hearts of the house are the pool and the roomy kitchen/dining room. It is a house for a large group or family to find both privacy and intimacy, fun and peace, table tennis and flopping by the pool. The owners are very responsive and helpful. All the mod cons work perfectly amid all this artistic charm. The silence of the house andthe incredible sight when you stargaze in poolside loungers at night without pool lights on invade you gradually, so that we all slowly went on our phones and screens less and less . Nearby Lauzerte is more intimate and lived-in - not a dreadful showtown at all - the more you visit it. We took a badminton net, a good idea for the big space out front, and left the rackets there. The pool is surrounded by garrigue. Buzzards mew overhead and cicadas but thats it . Great place for yoga or other routes to inner peace.
