A 'Hidden Gem,' In Its Own Private Walled Courtyard Just Outside Carcassonne

This property proved to be perfect choice for us to experience life in southern France. Everything from our interactions with the Rolland and Andrea, the property itself, the village in which it sits and general proximity to attractions within the region make it an exceptional choice. Communication with Rolland and Andrea was excellent throughout the rental process. In addition to being highly responsive to our questions, they were very generous with their assistance and guidance on how best to thrive in the area. They had a fantastic list of suggestions for sites, activities and dining that proved to be excellent advice. It felt like we were hanging out in a friends’ house and it really felt like home. The house is absolutely charming and comfortable. Everything we needed to enjoy six weeks in France was present. The kitchen is compact by American standards, but we had no trouble whipping up our meals. We definitely enjoyed the courtyard for reading and eating with both sun and shade readily available. There is plenty of space and the master bath offers both tub and shower. At night, the town is super quiet… no trouble sleeping… and the view of the stars in the dark night sky is amazing.

A beautiful stone house in a welcoming village. Everything we needed - plenty to do within driving distance. A real holiday with something for everyone! We visited several beautiful lakes - one in the mountains Lac de Pradelles was a favourite especially on the hotter days as it was a bit cooler. Owners recommended restaurants excellent as were other suggestions. Parking in village was not a problem there was always somewhere within short distance of property. Fans in all bedrooms a real help in the heat. House has everything you need a real home from home! Clean fresh linen and towels. Bikes so handy to ride for intermediate cyclists in local area for some beautiful trips out. Only one comment to note perhaps a second set of keys would be handy with a larger party. The village and house are wonderful. We had an incredibly relaxing time thanks to the lovely house - it feels like someone has given you the keys to a home they really care about. The bakers and vegetable store in the village are really excellent and there is also a small cafe/bar to sit and watch the world go by.

We had an absolutely wonderful time in this picturesque village of Villeneuve-minervois. You are within 10 minutes of Carcassonne and La Cité. Great biking along the Canal du Midi. A visit to Lastours is a must! We loved sitting out in the evening in the beautiful courtyard underneath the stars. Thank you for a wonderful week!

We loved being in the house, and it gave us a welcome respite from the hugely hot temperatures over the last 2 weeks.
