We decided upon a short notice, 2 night stay in northern France and found this gem of a cottage in Marquis. It is only 12 miles or so from the Channel Tunnel. The cottage is attached to the owners house, a very pleasant, friendly and approachable family eager to ensure that everything is okay in relation to your stay. The cottage is set back up a cutting leading off a main thoroughfare resulting in it being quiet and private. There is ample parking space on the street. The kitchen is well equipped, the beds are comfortable and the bathroom is a wet room negating the need for any mopping up following use of the shower. The decking area at the rear of the cottage has a table, chairs and sun loungers which were put to good use during our stay. The town centre is a five minute walk with the usual bars, butchers and bakers shop. Main supermarkets (Intermarche, Aldi, Lidl) are a five minute drive whilst Carrefour is closer to the town centre. Our trip was for a specific purpose and we have been to this region several times however had we been seeking to explore the surrounding area then Boulogne, Le Touquet and Montreuil are all within 30-40 minutes drive.
