A Room with a View - Maisonnette dans bourg médiéval au bord du Lac Léman

😊: Do put a visit to the "Jardin des Cinq Sens" on the agenda! Residence right in the middle of the historic town center with a marvelous view on Lac Leman. Somewhat hidden away for the town visitors, and thanks to the limited car traffic allowed into the town, the quietness was amazing.... 😢: ... if one doesn't mind the bell church telling time on the hour, (almost) every hour ;).

😊: The accommodation was fabulous. It was perfectly located with a breathtaking view overlooking the lake and chateau. Yvoire is in the top 3 of the many villages we have visited in France and Europe. The hosts couldn't have been more helpful. Having breakfast on the balcony was a trip highlight...

😊: Such a wonderful property in a special location with views over the lake to die for. 100% recommended. The property is a cleverly renovated old fisherman's terraced stone house over three storeys. It's adapted to modern life very well but retains its legacy charm and character. It also has some unusual characteristics that might be awkward at first but which you get used to very quickly. For example, the beautifully appointed bathroom is in the basement - there is no other place it could go. The kitchen is the best equipped we have ever had but the open plan living space is a little small. The balcony is accessed from the front bedroom on the second floor and has has a world class view. Yvoire is a medieval heritage site, a beautiful old fishing village on the edge of Lac Leman/Lake Geneva that's very well described elsewhere. There's a wide choice of bars and restaurants to choose from, all priding themselves on local Savoyard produce, and a calendar of events throughout the summer. We spent the evenings on the balcony watching the ospreys fish their dinner from the lake, having spent our days swimming from one of the many little shingle beaches dotted along the lakeside - we found the best were a 20 minutes walk - or 3 minutes drive - along the lake at Domaine de Rovorée. The large sandy beach at Excenevex is just a 5 minutes drive, while the high Alps, Chamonix and the Mont Blanc massif are an hour away. Enjoy it all. Location! Location! Location!. 😢: Be aware that this beautifully renovated fisherman's house over three storeys is not suitable for those with accessibility requirements, or for those with very young children. Also be aware that the village of Yvoire is a heritage site and vehicle access is restricted to mornings before 11am and evening 6-7.30pm. Parking is a 5 minutes walk away. This is the price you pay for staying in such a wonderful place..

😊: The apartment/house is located in the seaside part of beautiful medieval town Yvoire. Restaurants and shops in walking distance, bakery and grocery store 5 minutes by car. You can enjoy fantastic view from balcony. House is well equipped with all You need. Yvoire is busy during the day but very calm at night. Surrounding area is amazing, with many places worth visiting (Geneve, Thonon, Evian, Lavaux, Balcon du Leman...) Parking, recommended by owner is in walking distance, and cheap (2,50/day). 😢: nothing.
