Alpe d'Huez, le village : chalet familial

Cute little chalet about 15 minutes walk from the main area of Alpe d'Huez (shops, restaurants, bars, etc.) Fantastic views. Was able to heat the entire chalet with one heater in the main room distributing heat throughout (in fact, we slept with windows open it was warm enough). 5 minute walk to the slopes, though needed to trudge up a snow bank to get to them. There is no ski locker, but we had a car so left the skis in the car. We didn't find the Huez lift busy (as others have said), but we were there early March (not during school holidays) so perhaps less people around.Linens and towels not included, so that is an extra cost. Deposit required, and expectation to clean the chalet, so take that into account. We weren't expecting that, and so had to adjust the last day schedule to do a general clean of the flat (this wasn't made clear when booking).Dishwasher for dishes, and lots of pots and pans for cooking.Beds are small, but comfortable. No Wifi (who doesn't have Wifi nowadays?). I got good coverage with my mobile (EE in UK), but others struggled and I had to hotspot them so they had some data.

The property, whilst quite rustic, was perfect as a base for a week of skiing with my family. The property was clean and as described in the advert. The host representative was friendly and helpful with advice.

Great chalet in a great location. About 15 min walk to the centre if Alpe d'huez.

Nice, comfortable chalet, about 15 mins walk to the centre of Alpe d'Huez (there is a shuttle bus, once per hour too). No Wi-Fi, but we didn't mind that. Amazing views and close enough to a slope that we could ski down to the next village and catch a cable car up to the main slopes (and ski back to near the chalet ) Would definitely stay again

Great chalet, exactly as described and both Christine the owner and Maryse who looks after the apartment couldn’t have been more helpful. Highly recommend and when going back to Alpe d’Huez we’ll definitely be back here!

"A clean, well equiped chalet which was a great place for a ski holiday. In a quiet location with access on and off the slopes either by bus to the main lift area or a ski run down to another lift. "We stayed in the Chalet for 3 weeks during Xmas and new year. As a party of 10 (6 adults, 4 teenagers) we had plenty of room with all the kids staying in the basement room. The chalet is very well equiped and clean. The location is in the old town on bend 20, during good snow conditions you can ski to bend 20 down the Huez ski run, otherwise you can easily use the slope that runs through the middle of the old town from the Signal and walk 10 minutes down hill. In the mornings there is a bus at the end of the road that stops at Les Bergers and the DMC. The view is spectacular, looking down the mountain to Bourg with views of Signal de L'Homme and Maronne. The old town has excellent night life, with the Yeti for Apres ski, the Igloo and Smithy's for late entertainment. Edelweiss is superb for food and our favourite Le Sporting just 15 minutes walk away - near the Ice rink. There is parking directly opposite the chalet and the road is cleared after heavy snow falls. I would definitley recommend this chalet for the ski season and for anyone interested in cycling as it is perfectly located to watch an ascent of the 21 bends !!!"
