Ancient, fully restored, 13th century medieval village house with garden & patio

Very charming home in a great location within the village. We visited during the coldest time of year so we didn’t get to enjoy the courtyard, however it definitely would have added to the charm of the property. The beds are on the hard side, very French, but the home was well equipped, which made cooking very easy. Would definitely return.

The house is lovely and very well appointed. The kitchen was stocked with excellent dinnerware, cutlery, equipment and glassware. All was as described in the VRBO listing. Angela, the house manager was eager to answer any and all questions re the house. The owners, John and Louise, provided superb communication and well curated local information. This is a perfect spot for exploring the Dordogne!

We loved our stay in this beautiful home. The house was immaculately clean and very well appointed. The property manager was very responsive. The information provided about the house, the town and the region is very comprehensive. All is very well organized and made our visit so much easier. Highly recommended rental.

This property is outstanding. We were there for 10dsts total and I SAS very reluctant to leave. The house is so well equipped we needed nothing except or did... And wine of course. Many memories were made and I'm sure we will be back soon. Highly highly recommended on all accounts

This was our second stay at this house although we have been coming to Issigeac since 2009. We were only 3 people although we had expected another 2 guests who were unable to stay because they had covid. The house is very spacious and can easily accomodate 8 guests without feeling crowded. It is also extremely well equiped including a printer which was useful for me. You can easily walk to all the local restaurants. Unfortunately the small but lovely traditional boulangerie accross the street has closed down, so you have to the other one about 5 minutes away

Beautiful, well-furnished, well-equipped, warm and comfortable home in small medieval village. House “lived” large and offered plenty of spaces for socializing and for private time. Most sights 60-90 minute drive but Issigeac is a lovely village full of friendly people when you want a day off from exploring. Countless wonderful restaurants and farm markets. Both the owners and local house manager are very responsive and helpful. I highly recommend this property and hope to return - there’s a lot to see in the region!

We had a wonderful stay at the Maison de la Paix. It looks like no details were spared in restoring the house and making it comfortable for guests. This gem of a place delivers on all fronts: Location, architecture, tasteful decoration, quality of beddings and linens, cleanliness.... I highly recommend.
