ApartHotel Riviera - CLOCHER D'ALEXANDRE - Old Town - Promenade des Anglais

😊: Location is good, the description is a bit deceptive it states there is a washing machine (there is none). (we make decisions based on these amenities and it is a big hassle to take half a day to go to a laundromat out of a holiday as you have to 'stay' with your washing to supervise it. Also to our surprise the note posted inside the apartment read 'cleaning was not included' and we were expected to strip the beds and to mop the floors! this should have been disclosed in the description.(we expected to clean the kitchen as you would do with an airbnb). the apartment is very clean but we had issues with dust from the vent above shower. Also the shower ran cold even though there was only two of us and took short showers. Getting the keys from the office is about an 8min walk. (i thought that was ok as it was disclosed - but we also had to return the keys on the day of departure which i thought was onerous -most places you can leave on the table etc). The space is really only big enough for 2 people if you had more it would be terribly cramped. We had noise from the apartment next door as the wall is thin. The security metal door in the hallway on level 5 that has to be deadlocked and can't be opened to leave without a key is a fire trap safety hazard. It needs a safety release mechanism to make it safer. 😊: Location of the reception was not so far from apartment - just 450 m in one direction. 😢: Necessity to come with luggage to reception for keys pick up on arrival and same for departure what isn't useful at all.

😊: The location was great.. 😢: There was an issue with the shower drainage- we had water leaking out of the shower and into the kitchen. It was obviously not a new issue as you could see marks on the floor. They did come quickly and look at it but it didn’t completely fix the issue. The sofa bed wasn’t comfortable and the pillows were terrible. The Internet was useless. They treat it like an Airbnb and asked us to empty rubbish and strip sheets afterwards. It was a hefty deposit of $500 which took a few days to be returned. Only 1 key was provided and you had to lock a hall door when leaving or arriving. It was extremely unsafe if anyone stayed home as they didn’t have a key and were literally trapped in the apartment. It is a huge safety issue..
