😊: The accommodation looked great from the photos, so I booked for two about a year in advance. We were travelling from New Zealand, so everything was planned well ahead. Three months before our stay the booking was changed to be for four people, and was confirmed. Communications were good. This place uses a property manager for initial messaging back and forth. Five days before an arrival (after we had paid in full) we got messages from the owner providing entry details etc. all very easy to follow. I again confirmed four of us would be staying. No problem.. 😢: Two days before our arrival we received a message from the property manager saying there was a problem with the gate, and we might need alternate accommodation. They recommended another property that was significantly lower grade than this place, and would only fit two people, not four. I replied that this was not satisfactory. The next morning, a day before our arrival, the property company again messaged to say our booking was cancelled, and to expect an email from Booking.com. An email from booking.com followed, which said we were cancelled because the accommodation was “double booked “. We don’t know the truth - was there a problem at the property, or did they make an admin error and try and cover it up. We had to find alternate accommodation for four people at a days notice, and pay out a second time for the same nights, until a refund came through a week later. Most disappointing experience..

It turned out an almost perfect place to stay. Comfortable, clean, spacious, and well equipped. But the main thing is its location, right inside of a triangle of three major attractions - Chambord, Cheverny, and Blois. We did not see the owner, communicated with him by email, but Christian was very responsive. The only issue was that the wi-fi was something spotty, but it was not anything major. All in all, highly recommended!

😊: location was great and the house quite and well equipped once we had found everything. 😢: Air-con didn't work.

The owner was very accommodating and gave us a lot of information about the house and the surrounding areas. The house could have been a little cleaner (cobwebs, BBQ and Coffee pot). It was in a great location and very quiet. Not far from the incredible Chateau de Chambord which was a great day out. Not happy that the air-conditioning wasn't working and we weren't advised before we arrived as this was a main point for selection this property. The internet (Wifi) was also spotty and didn't work all of the time. An addition of sunbeds would have been nice but not essential.
