Appartement 2ch Tout Neuf a Deux Pas du Vieux Port

😊: Location to main part of La Rochelle. 😢: No air conditioning so far too hot and you cannot leave the windows open as the noise until the small hours is intolerable. Then trucks and deliveries start at 6am. Impossible.

😊: The beds are big and comfy, the flat is decorated nicely with a well equipped kitchen and bathroom.. 😢: The advert says ocean front and the pictures lead you to believe that you are on the ocean front. There is one window in the flat with a little tiny view of the sea. It’s a limited sea view at best certainly not ocean front. The flat in April was stiflingly hot, I think partially because it’s above a restaurant so the heat from the stoves rise up maybe? There are little portable air con units but they simply don’t make a dint in the heat. The windows can be opened to try and get a breeze through but the noise of the streets is unbearable once the windows are even open a little. The advert says its sound proofed but the window in the living room doesn’t close properly at the top which lets in even more noise from the streets and the walls are paper thin so this morning at 6.00 we where woke up by someone in another apartment just drying their hair but they sounded like they was sitting in the room with us and the sound of the bottles being emptied from the bins outside and just the general noise of the city centre sound like you are right in the centre of a busy street. Yes the location is great but when it says in the listing it’s soundproofed you don’t expect to hear too much noise from the streets..

😊: The apartment is modern, comfortable, and newly furnished. Its location right on the Old Harbor is ideal.. 😢: You can hardly hear anything from the nearby restaurants in the evening. However, we could hear the street cleaners every morning..
