Authentic Loft with Mezzanine & Exposed Stones Heart of Lyon

😊: Nothing good to say about this place I'm afraid.. 😢: We couldn't get into the property as the lock was broken. It took nearly 3 hours of phone calls and messages to the property before they sent an agent out. He couldn't open the door either. The property then told us they couldn't help us find somewhere else to stay so we were stranded in the middle of Lyon at 19.30 with a child and no where to stay. It took 2 weeks and lots of chasing to get our money back. The property didn't apologise at all and it was an awful experience. Do not recommend..

😊: I was looking forward to staying at this property, it gets great reviews. It is in a good location, not too touristy but very convenient for all the main attractions. There are lots of shops and cafes for food nearby. It is a short walk back to the centre of Lyon and there was a choice of buses from the station. The You Tube video was very helpful for getting into the property, working out the keys functioned at each stage. The kitchen is well equipped and the apartment is well decorated.. 😢: The information does not make it clear that you cannot stand up straight on the mezzanine level which makes it very claustrophobic. Also, hot in summer as it gets very stuffy. I moved on to the sofa bed which was very ordinary, squeaky and uncomfortable. I moved the sheets to make the sofa bed and found that the bottom sheet, in addition to being very worn, was stained. Even sleeping on the sofa bed, the apartment was stuffy and warm. There are cafes nearby with open air seating which makes the apartment quite noisy if you try to open the windows. The ceiling fan, no matter what setting you put it on, moves ZERO air (I know that sounds unbelievable, but it is true). The saving grace was a small portable fan but, before I could use that, I had to take off the front which was only held on by a small piece of thin wire and was absolutely caked in dust. That made the apartment sort of bearable. It is also quite dark, despite the large windows. The kitchen was in need of a deep clean, the glass shelves were covered in marks from glasses and cups that had been put away wet. A lot of the cutlery and dishes were not properly clean and had food left on them. That was tricky because, after reviews left by other people, I was not going to try using the dishwasher. Instead, I had to wash everything by hand and the plug in the sink doesn't stay down. The plug in the bathroom basin doesn't go down at all and the towels were very thin. One of the towels had a muddy boot print still on it when I unrolled it. The washing machine only opens about 3 inches so don't plan to wash anything too huge. But it does work well for what you can get in. There were very few supplies (I had to go and buy clothes washing liquid which I left behind so other people could also use it), one coffee pod and two tea bags was the extent of the food supplies..
