Authentique petite maison périgourdine avec piscine au sel, aux portes de SARLAT

Fantastic little house, perfect in order and in a nice rural area. Roe deer in the garden every morning! We loved it.

Ein wirklich schöner Ort und sich zu erholen und diese Gegend zu erkunden. Das Haus ist mit allem ausgestattet was man so für eine Urlaubswoche braucht. Einziger Nachteil ist die Treppe nach oben. Für größere Menschen oder mit Handicap kann sie eine echte Herausforderung sein. (siehe Foto- steil, gedreht und Durchgang eingeschränkt).

Initial confusion over check in was quickly resolved by email/call to responsive host. Tiny and cute but stairs to upper floor need agility to negotiate. Bring your own staples. Distance to shops made total lack of kitchen supplies inconvenient.

This old barn is set in a tranquil valley, overlooking ancient woodland. The property itself is full of character, but it is not suitable for anyone with mobility issues - access to the bedroom is a tight squeeze up the stairs! Equipment is generally very basic and missing some essential items such as a cafetière ( the corkscrew was broken). The pool is beautifully clean and was very welcome in near-40 degree temperatures. Overall, we had a wonderful few days in Proissans as it is so peaceful. Be sure to visit Sarlat de Canéda - so much to see (and eat!!)

Very attractive, character filled property in a pretty, quiet location close to Sarlat. The property was very small, but very well renovated and equipped. The bathroom and kitchen were tiny, but well designed. The larger bedroom was very attractive, with a comfortable bed. The second bedroom was tiny, with bunk beds, that were very hard. The stairs were very narrow and steep, and difficult to get up and down with luggage. The pool is lovely. The garden and patio is rustic, but attractive. The driveway is very rough and potholed. The gite we were in was really too small for four adults. It would be lovely for a couple, or couple and a child. However, this is a lovely place, and very good value for money.

Location was great. Cottage was quaint and cozy. The amenities were sparse. No electric kettle, only 1/2 roll of toilet paper provided, no paper towels or dish clothes in kitchen, outside light not working, stair railing very wobbly. Owner required WE strip the bed AND fold all bedding. Also wanted us to remove trash and place in nonexistent trash bens at end of driveway. Would have given higher rating if owner would only address some small comfort based issues.

wonderful gite, 5 minutes drive from sarlot. clean, well equipped and ideal for family of 4 with young children, nice outside area and swimming pool. quite romantic rural location. reasonable value for money. sarlat is the best town/ village to visit in perigord noir and has lots going on. it is the ideal base to explore the region.

Our second visit to Chantigrel and its 3 lovely cottages. Our only complaint is that our stay was too short this time! Lovely peaceful surroundings, perfect swimming pool, comfortable accommodation. So much to see and do in the area and as every visitor to Sarlat knows, its market day is not to be missed.
