Bayeux : Luxe, chic et charme

Beautiful property in the countryside outside Bayeaux. Very clean and comfortable bedrooms. Two full baths, one shared upstairs and one downstairs master bath with shower and tub. The toilet to downstairs bath was in the living space, not the bedroom but that worked out ok for us. We only used the kitchen for breakfast a couple of mornings and there were NO staples available so plan on shopping on arrival. No coffee, sugar or any condiments or waters. We were really too busy to enjoy the grounds but would be lovely in the spring or summer.

Claudia was there to greet us and was available with suggestions. The chateau was set on a beautiful piece of property. Would highly recommend.

Our time here was nothing short of a dream! The château and its surrounding grounds are even more beautiful in real life than in the photos – with elegant rooms, historic charm, and exquisite interiors that make you feel like you’re living in another era.The garden, the pond, and the view brought peace to our souls every single day, and it was impossible not to relax completely. We enjoyed iced coffee to the sound of birdsong and truly felt the holiday spirit from day one.The château’s hostess, Claudia, was incredibly welcoming, helpful, and warm – we felt like honored guests, not just renters. This was one of the highlights of our journey through Normandy, and something we’ll carry beautiful memories of for many years to come!Highly recommended!

We loved our stay! The location was perfect for touring Normandy, and the garden offered such a peaceful setting for ending our days. Claudia was charming as could be and very accommodating. The space worked great for our group of 5 (4 adults and a 5 year old). My son especially loved the balcony, because it made a great launch pad for the parachute toys he got from the WW2 museum. Highly recommend!

The castle and surrounding grounds were beautiful. Our host Claudia made us feel right at home and was very accomodating. We enjoyed our stay very much. We would definitely stay here again if we return to France.

We visited in early June, the purpose of our visit was to see the D Day beaches. The accommodation was perfect, lovely and bright, well equipped in a quiet spot, a short drive from Bayeux. Lots of hot water, comfy beds, very clean and airy. Claudia was very welcoming and helpful throughout our stay when needed. Great accommodation for 2 couples as we had our own facilities, one room with bath/shower, the other with shower. The setting was idyllic with the beautiful lake. The position for visiting WWll museums, beaches and memorials was absolutely ideal. Would thoroughly recommend. Thank you Claudia.

4 of us adults thoroughly enjoyed our 4 nights at The Conde Castle and Claudia and Michel were excellent hosts. We were greeted by each of them and shown around the property, which is perfectly serene and quiet. Every morning we walked on the country roads and enjoyed the peace and quiet of the beautiful farms. The place was well stocked with kitchen items and the bedrooms very comfortable. Great location for access to D-day sites and easy drive to town for supplies or dinner. Perfect for 2 couples.

This property is truly amazing. Claudia and Michel met us at check-in and gave us the grand tour. They were very pleasant and genuinely happy to meet us and our 3 kids. We loved hearing about the property and some of the stories associated with some of the furniture pieces. This is hands down the nicest VRBO that I have ever stayed in. There was plenty of room and the beds were amazing. All of the conveniences were taken care of like Nespresso coffee machine and tableware. My wife absolutely loved taking a hot bath after a full day of sightseeing. The location is wonderful (only 4-5 miles from Bayeaux) and incredible quiet and dark at night. Claudia gave us some great restaurant recommendations. We never had reservations, but were always able to get into a place by going a little earlier in the evening before all of the locals arrived. I would recommend making reservations ahead of time for some of the nicer places in Bayeaux. This property matches the pictures exactly and is an idyllic French farm house in Normandy. It is exactly what I had in mind while planning the vacation. You will love it!
