BEACH & CALANQUES 300yd away, COSY HOUSE 10min from the heart of Marseille, Wifi

We had a great stay in this very nice and clean house. The garden is great we took all meals outside and enjoyed the calmness. It is a bit challenging to get by car into town. We had our bikes with us which is a good way to move around. All in all we had a great time with our two dogs and can highly recommend this house.

Das Häuschen hat alles, was der Frankreichliebhaber sucht: Gute Küche und Betten, gemütliches Wohnzimmer und gutes Bad. Außerdem einen hübschen Innenhof zum Grillen mit Blick auf die Felsen. Guter Bäcker und kleiner Supermarkt gleich um die Ecke, Badestrand fußläufig 5 Minuten. Mit ÖPNV gelangt man für kleines Geld bis in die Stadtmitte am alten Hafen, in die andere Richtung zum Wandern in die Calanques. Was will man mehr. Volle Punktzahl für dies liebenswerte Unterkunft und die netten Vermieter! Jederzeit wieder.

Wir haben uns in dem Haus sehr wohl gefühlt. Es ist liebevoll eingerichtet und mit allem, was man im Alltag braucht, sehr reichhaltig ausgestattet. Es hat wirklich an nichts gefehlt! Es gab sogar eine Möglichkeit auf dem Grundstück 4 Fahrräder unterzustellen, ohne dass dies die Attraktivität des Außenbereichs eingeschränkt hätte. Die Highlights für uns waren: Die ruhige Lage, kurze Wege zum Meer und in die Calanques, die Patisserie nebst anderen Einkaufmöglichkeiten gleich um die Ecke. Eine kleine Bibliothek mit interessanter Literatur sowie Informationen und Kartenmaterial zur näheren und weiteren Umgebung machten eigene Recherchen überflüssig. Nicht zu vergessen: Christine und Marc, ihr seid sehr freundliche und hilfsbereite Gastgeber.

The charming house is well and accurately described . We were glad to find a washing machine in addition to what was mentioned. The garden is lovely and private and the neighborhood very quiet and pleasant. We were there the 3rd week of June and never felt too warm inside the house. The bakery and closest market are lierally within 5 minute slow walk and both are good quality. The house is more than well supplied with linen, pots, dishes and hot water. We didn't get to meet Marc but were beguiled by Christine and her friend who are down to earth , funny and creative. Christine suggested that if we didn't want to have a long, hard hike into the Calanques we could reserve at a restaurant and thus be allowed to drive in. This was a great suggestion for us lazy septuagenarians. We spent about half of our week in Marseille and half in or near the calanques. As others have said it's a good balance. The ferry from Pointe Rouge into the Vieux Porte is great and we really enjoyed our 8 calanques boat tour from Cassis. Thabk you Christine and Marc!

A traditional home with great cooking facilities and a lovely garden to enjoy. The charming decor is carefully chosen to suit the house. Nearby are green grocers, bakeries, fishmonger and butchers. The kitchen was well equipped with basics like salt and pepper, oil, sugar, coffee, tea. Christine and Marc are wonderful hosts. They are very kind, generous and gentle people, helpful with information and quick to respond to questions. A great "city beach" experience. The only downside to the location is the time to city centre--not due to distance, but due to traffic. Transit is good, but there is only one route into and out of Montredon, so on warm weekends the traffic is fierce. Which actually just means we stayed close and enjoyed a relaxing time. Marc and Christine's house is in a perfect location, and we had enough beds for five of us in the family. The house is beautiful and the garden out back is relaxing. We had everything we needed for a wonderful stay, and cooked many meals in the house. The bakery around the corner is perfect for breakfast, and the walk to the ocean is only 15-20 minutes, and bus stops are nearby as well. You can ride the bus to explore the nearby National Park. The only misunderstanding was the $400 in cash for the deposit that was lost in translation. It would be much better for those coming from the U.S. if the deposit uses the credit card when booking the rental. However, Christine and Marc were very understanding, and there were no problems at all. Highly recommend their home for rental if you are visiting Marseille or the National Park area.

A great spot and really cool owners. A car is recommended; however there is easy bus access 2 blocks away with connections to the Metro. The mass transit system is very good - clean and on time - it's better than driving into the city. Close drive or bus to Les Goudes, which is sort of the beginning of the Calanques - beautiful sunsets and hikes. Easy day trips to Sormiou (nice beach and hiking). The house is 1 to 2 blocks from markets for fresh fish, baguettes, vegetables and meat. Montredon is a bit out of the city center but it really worked for us. The house was fully equipped for cooking meals - it is as shown in the photos. Loved Marseille - just the right amount of funk, culture and the sea. Highly recommended.

We had a lovely relaxed weekend catching up with old friends. The house is very clean and spacious with a lovely outdoor terrace and garden where you can enjoy a meal and a glass or two of wine. The house is well situated to enjoy a visit to the Calanques or a day in Marseille. We took a bus from the bottom of the road and enjoyed the views along the coast on the way into the city! Also enjoyed breakfast each morning from the Boulangerie at the end of the street. A great wee house for adults or families to visit! Many thanks Marc and Christine for your hospitality.
