Beautiful 2 bedroom cottage 5 minutes from the River Charente

Peaceful and relaxing. Made very welcome by Catherine with useful tips on local attractions and events.

We had a lovely stay. Catherine was very welcoming and the property very clean. The swimming pool is perfect and the garden very nice for warm evenings. Catherine left fans to help with the hot weather.

The house was all we could have wished for and the pool was the icing on the cake. We enjoyed a peaceful base with all amenity’s you need, and cycled through al the connected towns and villages. Thank you to Catherine for being a lovely host and helpful. Thanks for organising the excellent weather too!

Unfortunately the weather wasn't very good and this attracted Mosquitos, so we never really used the outside facilities. I am sure given sunny dry weather the cottage would be delightful. Good location with pretty villages nearby and only an hour to Ile de Re (recommended) and only 40 mins to the coast.

We spent a delightful week at l'Olivier. Catherine was a perfect host, and nothing was too much trouble. The gite is peaceful and homely, the gardens spacious and well-kept, and the lovely pool an added bonus. There is lots to do and see within a five mile radius of the house. We'd definitely recommend.

Wonderful few days exploring Charente-Maritime … so much to see and do. Comfy accommodation with great owner communication. Just wish we had longer!… we will be back…. Thank you very much 🇫🇷👍😊

Très bien équipé, lits très confortables, maison douillette, propriétaire accueillante, emplacement parfait pour un séjour au vert, tout proche des lapidiales, des pierres de crazannes et de la magnifique ville de Saintes pour ne citer que ces lieux !

We very much enjoyed our stay in L’Olivier which is the two bedroom gite. It was a home from home, very comfortable and well thought out space. Very clean on arrival and neat and tidy. The gite sits in a private space which is well shaded. The pool and pool area are perfect for a lounge and swim which was very welcome during this year’s heatwave. Catherine is a great host who was very welcoming and on hand if you needed anything. Communication prior to our stay and during our stay was excellent. She is a lovely lady. Some beautiful towns and villages nearby to visit and a convenient drive both to cities such as La Rochelle, Cognac and Bordeaux. We would definitely recommend a stay here.
