Beautiful 8 bedroom Charentaise farmhouse in peaceful rural location

The house is just stunning, so well put together with everything and more you would need on holiday. We spent a week here with friends and 5 young children, house felt safe for them with stairgates and a pool fence. Lots of grass for them to run around on too. Owners are really helpful with local knowledge and we can’t wait to come back!

Spent a week (8 adults - 4 couples, 5 kids - aged 2-6) at the Petit Sorin in Mortiers. The house is beautiful, and very much adapted to several families together. Could not have asked for any better. The area is very much the French countryside, with small provincial markets being held in the surrounding villages. Quiet roads. Very 'French'. Thanks to the owners for making our stay a great one.

Nous étions un groupe de 11 personnes, de 4 mois à 90 ans. Nous avons passé un très agréable week-end dans celle belle demeure ancienne merveilleusement restaurée. C'était pourtant la canicule (+40) et à l'interieur nous étions bien au frais, grace à l'épaisseur des murs. Il y a de nombreuses salles de bains et WC, deux cuisines, dont une immense, un grand barbecue à gaz, deux terrasses, un parc, la piscine, c'est encore mieux que sur les photos. La propriétaire est discrète mais présente si besoin. Je recommande à 200%.

Nous avons passé un weekend fantastique avec toute notre famille. La maison est très agréable et répond en tout point aux besoins pour passer des moments conviviaux tous ensemble. Emily Andy sont exceptionnels, encore merci pour leur accueil. Nous avons tous été convaincu d'avoir trouvé la maison parfaite et y reviendrons.

Propriété très agréable, aménagée avec beaucoup de gout. Les propriétaires habitent sur place (logement attenant à la ferme mais entrée indépendante) . Emily et Andy sont très sympathiques et très discrets mais toujours présents pour régler le moindre souci et pour veiller à l'entretien de la piscine. Nous avons beaucoup apprécié le calme et la possibilité de randonner dans la campagne Charentaise (randos balisées obtenues au syndicat d'initiative de Jonzac).

Our stay in this house near Mortiers was fantastic. We stayed here with six adults and six children, but we had some bedrooms and bathrooms to spare. The house was very clean, more than fully equiped, with a.o. a great pool, huge garden, two kitchens, bbq (gas). The owners, Andy and Emily, who live next door, are very kind and made us feel more than welcome. They made sure everything was to our satisfaction during our week there. We have had several holidays on vrbo listed houses, but this was by far the best. A place to come back to!

What a fabulous property Le Petit Sorin is! Emily and Andy have created the perfect holiday house. It is beautifully appointed with everything you could need or want including pool, swings for the children and a large field with football goals. We rented the property as a family, a party of 18 aged between 6 months to 75. Nothing was too much trouble, Emily and Andy recommended activities in the local area and even arranged a chef for us so we could celebrate my sister’s 40th birthday during our stay. We would definitely stay again!

Just back from the most incredible week at Le Petit Sorin in Mortiers France with the wonderful hosts Emily and Andy. I couldn't have been happier or more impressed with this beautiful home and the hospitality and genuine 'here to help' attitude of Emily and Andy. From first communication to waving good bye at the end of the week nothing was too much trouble. Pre-visit I was in touch with Emily with questions about what to do in the area, she came back promptly with ideas, distances, costs and links on how to contact and book. this included towns to visit, places to eat, local businesses such as a fabulous yoga and spa retreat just 10 mins away. A congac vineyard, just 10 mins away where we had a private tour and tasting, Contact details for us us to book local restaurants in near by Jonzac and Leoville and even a contact to book a hot air balloon for our special occasion. They gave us directions to a local supermarket where we were able to get everything we needed for our evenings in on the terrace by the pool and directions to a cafe for morning coffee opposite a quaint little Boulangerie for wonderful french bread, delicious pastries and the most marvelous fresh macaroons. Just heavenly.. The details of the Gite shown on the site are accurate and it is as lovely as it looks, I would definitely class this home as Luxury Accommodation and the attention to detail and the simple little touches are just lovely. All of the bedrooms were beautifully decorated, most with en-suite bathrooms. 2 large and fully equipped kitchens made self catering a breeze. We almost forgot Emily and Andy were there as they were so discreet and gave us privacy at all times, It was great to know they were just next door if we needed anything, keeping themselves to them selves and always with a friendly smile. Cleanliness 5*'s, Style 5*s,comfort 5*s, friendliness 5*s, location 5*s, Surrounding area 5*s having to leave at the end of the week... absolute pants! Thank you Emily and Andy we all had an amazing time and will see you again at Le Petit Sorin.
