Beautiful converted barn - La Grange at Les Hiboux family friendly cottages.

Toutes les commodités à disposition, un gîte conforme à la description, quelques détails non communiqués (piscine uniquement accessible de 10 a 19h), et d'autres importants à préciser (prévenir en amont pour les animaux car il y a une taxe). Mais pas de réel mauvaise surprise et une qualité de prestations remarquable, pas d'ennui possible !;

Nous étions un groupe de 11 adultes et 2 bébés et nous avons passé un excellent séjour. Le logement est très agréable, bien isolé phoniquement et bien agencé. La grande pièce à vivre est très agréable. Nous recommandons et reviendrons avec plaisir.

Nous avons passé un excellent week-end de Pentecôte avec nos enfants et petits-enfants. Les propriétaires sont charmants, discrets mais disponibles. Leur propriété est un écrin de verdure. Toute la famille a apprécié la salle de jeux avec babyfoot, billard, table de ping-pong et les vélos à disposition. La piscine (malgré l'eau un peu fraiche) a été apprécié des plus courageuses. We have just come back from a lovely relaxed week at Les Hiboux, which isnt always easy with a 4 and a 2 year old but somehow it was! A big part of it was the gardens which are safe, well maintained and spacious. Our children loved the treehouse and the big highlight was the sunken trampoline. They also made lots of friends and were quite sad to leave each other at the end of the week! Ellen and Tim made us feel very welcome and were helpful throughout the holiday. The accommodation was spacious, clean and had everything we wanted. Would definitely recommend.

My husband and I are active people with busy lives. We have just had the perfect break at this glorious location. We arrived tired and ready for a rest. We could relax by the pool or in the wonderful gardens. Once we were ready for action again we were able to cycle around the local countryside and beautiful villages on cycles provided and dream about which house we would buy when we move to France. We travelled to Ile d' Oleron, about an hour and half drive, and spent a lovely day on the beach and kayaking in the sea. There are plenty of other waterways nearer Ouismes and spent another day kayaking in Coulon. We played boule, table tennis and table football. Our holiday was a joy. There was peace and quiet when we needed it and plenty to do when we felt like it. Can't wait for next year.

We have just returned from a delightful week at Les Hiboux gites. Countryside i location but there was still loads to do for the children. Games rooms, bikes of all sizes including a trailer, to use out on the quiet country roads, football posts and a trampoline which is safely sunken into the ground. The holiday cottage we stayed in was well kitted out and very easy for a self-catering holiday. Dishwasher and washing machine made it like home from home. Tim and Ellen were very helpful in their suggestions for nearby places to visit, such as Futuroscope, local markets and the chap with the wine in Chef Boutonne. The weather was great and we hope to return when the pool has warmed up! Thoroughly recommended.

We stayed in this lovely clean self catering gite as a family group with our children and grandchildren. There was plenty of space in the house and the 3 shower rooms were more than adequate. The kitchen had everything including dishwasher and washing machine. The garden was great with swings and a very sensibly sunk trampoline which meant that the smaller grandchildren could happily bounce, very safely. The pool was a little chilly at that time of year but we made full use of the games rooms. The owners, were very helpful with their suggestions for day trips and shorter outings. A great market at Lezay gave us lots of ideas for the bbq. We also took a trip to the beautiful Ile de Re for lunch at the port of St Martin, followed by a spot of sandcastle building. Les Hiboux gites are excellent for a family holiday at a lovely peaceful countryside location. We would definitely recommend them.

My family was looking for a peaceful break away from it all, for the Easter weekend. We picked Les Hiboux because of the ideal location and excellent reviews. We were not disappointed. The accomodation was first rate, very clean and spacious. The owners Tim and Ellen were on hand on arrival, and nothing was too much trouble for them. They looked after us from start to finish. The kids had plenty of space in the beautiful gardens, and although it was a little chilly to use the swimming pool, there was plenty of other things to keep them busy. The games room was a particular favourite. When we did venture out, we drove the short drive to La Rochelle, a lovely seaside town. Nearby, the town of Chef Boutonne had all the shops we needed, so convenient.I would have no hesitation in recommending Les Hiboux to anyone, will be bringing the family back for another visit soon !
