Black White Retreat – Fontainebleau

😊: Nothing - it was the worst place I've ever stayed in - in fact it was so gross that we left on the first night without staying there. We complained to the host and they told us that a cleaning team was on their way. We waited until 10:00 pm but no one arrived. It became apparent that no one was turning up so we left the property and booked into another hotel. This meant that we missed the first night of the Festival we had travelled to Fontainebleau for.. 😢: It was the hottest day in France since records began and despite Booking.com's listing saying that there were fans - there were no fans in the building. There was only one window for the entire property. Via text the hosts said we should buy a fan and they would take the money out of the costs of staying there! However, as we spoke little French, had no idea where we could get one and it was late into the evening, we were faced with staying overnight in a filthy furnace. It was obvious that the property had clearly not been cleaned. • The bed had been slept in and there were gross human body fluids clearly visible on the sheets. (see attached photos) • There was no toilet roll in the toilet and one empty bottle of hand soap. • The hand towels were visibly very dirty (see photos) • Dirty cutlery had been put back unwashed into the cutlery drawer • There were cockroaches in the cupboards. • The floor was dirty. • There was human hair in the sink. • The shower had recently been used as a soaking wet bath mat was left on the floor. • The host claimed it had been cleaned but out photos show otherwise • There pictures show a coffee machine but that had disappeared • The was one chipped mug and one wine glass - the plates and cutlery were total insufficient for even a couple of two • On the way to the property we received a message from the host which forced us to pay 400 Euros as deposit before we could get the code to the key safe - I could have broken every item in the building and still had change back from the deposit. Booking dotcom say this is nothing to do with them..

😊: Nothing about the property. It was dirty, toilet stinks, bed sheet had blood stains and they refused to refund me. They are really horrible hosts. 😢: Just clean up the place. Add air freshners and clean sheets. They need to work on the door as it's unsafe.
