Mas Carol is an amazing place! Prepare to be in the middle of nowhere, the road is fine if you drive carefully but the location gives you a lot of rest and breathtaking views. The owners are very nice and available for questions. The pool is clean and large. The house can get a little bit of an upgrade, especially the kitchen but that is also the style and what makes it charming. We had a great time!

Endroit isolé mais idyllique si vous recherchez calme et bien être. Belle battisse avec tout ce qu'il faut pour passer de bonnes vacances. Ce que j'ai particulièrement bien aimé dans ce Mas: La Clef gigantesque pour rentrer dans la Mas La Cuisinière Lacanche ! L'évier authentique de la cuisine même si il est un peu casse pied à vider :) Le BBQ Weber svp qui fonctionne très bien malgré son âge. La Terrasse ou il fait vraiment bon vivre midi et soir La grande piscine individuelle est un vrai plus sachant que la plage de la Sana n'est pas si loin en voiture. Collioure n'est également qu'à 45 minutes si vous souhaitez sortir le soir. Seul bémol pour en citer un :). => Attention aux moustiques, ils peuvent être vorace sans protection. Equipez vous de spray d'huiles essentielles et tout ira bien. Ce n'est pas non plus la Camargue en terme de Moustiques. Paradis des motards ! Je me suis fais plaisir sur route et petits chemins en Trail.bien sûre. La région est franchement magnifique et pleins de virolos. Excellent Séjour en famille Merci pour tout ! Christophe

The views from mas Carol are simply breathtaking - not a house in site in all directions, just endless forest up to the dramatic ridge of the Spanish border. The woods are quiet and peaceful, and there are marvellous walks from the front door - follow tree forest road up into the mountains till you reach a stream, where after a steep climb on an overgrown local trail you can join the grand randonée and have incredible views down towards Céret. The town is very picturesque, with a museum of extremely impressive e quality, and all the necessities. But in the Mas you can enjoy toys solitude. The building is old and impressive, and generally wel-kept, though the kitchen is a little shabby (old, filthy sponges, temperamental cooker, few utensils, not very good quality equipment). It is nicely furnished. The upstairs bathroom (shared) has a lovely big bath. The pool is wonderful, clean, refreshing, and partly shaded by an apple tree. There is a handy gas grill for dinners on the terrace. M and Mme Armangué were very kind, and it’s clear that they take pride in what was their family home. The English HomeAway listing lacks some crucial information however, and guests would benefit from its being updated. Namely: - check in is between 15:00 and 19:00 (a narrow window, for those flying from the UK particularly) - check out is at 11:00 - an additional charge of €60 for housecleaning is applied - this must be paid in cash - towels, including hand towels, are not provided If we had had this information it would have prevented some misunderstandings, though our hosts were very accommodating and we would be happy to stay again.

Der Empfang war sehr freundlich, die Besitzer sind sehr nett und alles wurde verständlich erklärt. Das Haus ist sehr sauber (auch Schränke und Schubladen waren perfekt sauber!) auch sehr gut und geschmackvoll eingerichtet. Der Parkplatz war direkt im Garten. Der gesamte Aufbau des Grundstücks ist super durchdacht. Der Pool ist sehr groß und sehr gepflegt, die Mädchen hatten richtig Spaß! Unsere Highlight waren die zwei Pferde (von uns liebevoll Heidi und Jacky getauft!) aber auch der Blick von der Terrasse auf die Pyrenäen ist bei jeder Mahlzeit ein Traum!! Wir bräuchten 15 min. Bis Céret, es handelt sich um einen Schotterweg (Geländewagen von Vorteil, einen Kombi tut es auch!), mit vielen Möglichkeiten wie Museen, Restaurants, Supermarkt, Bäckerei, usw. Wer Ruhe braucht und Natur liebt ist hier genau richtig, jeden Cent wert. Gerne wieder!!! Gracias Viviane C. R. Hermosa mansión rústica, los dueños son muy amables y nos han informado todo lo necesario. La casa es muy limpia y bien cuidada decorada con muy buen gusto y con amor a los detalles. Es un lugar hermoso con mucho espacio para pasear y estar tranquilo. La piscina es grande y en muy buen estado. Las niñas se han divertido mucho en ella. Nuestros Highlights fueron los dos caballos (las hemos bautizado de Heidi y Jacky) pero también nos ha encantado todos días desayunar con la vista más magnífica así a lo Pirineos! El camino hasta Céret es de 15 min. en coche y es de tierra y piedras, pero muy accesible para todos los tipos de coche. Ceret es una ciudad hermosa con muchas opciones como museos, restaurantes, supermercados, panaderías, etcétera. Para quienes necesitan tranquilidad y se sienten bien cerca de la naturaleza este es el lugar perfecto para las vacaciones. Nos ha encantado estar aquí y volveríamos siempre!! Gracias Viviane C. R.

If you want a totally secluded retreat, surrounded by stunning countryside and within easy reach of an attractive town, this is the perfect place! The evening chorus of the birds, the hooting owls and the dark skies totally devoid of any artificial light were breathtaking. Beware though, the local roads aren't really suited to a large expensive car, better to have an old vehicle you don't mind collecting a few scratches. Our family had a wonderfully relaxing week, exploring the local countryside, climbing some of the local hills and one high peak (about an 1 1/2 hr drive away) and doing very little beside the pool or on the terrace. We also climbed down to the local gorge where organised canyoning trips take place, but these would need prior booking. The farmhouse is very tastefully restored, comfortable and well-equipped (although access to a washing machine would have been welcome as we brought with us a limited number of towels). You do have to know your fellow visitors very well as 2 of the bedrooms have ensuite bath/shower rooms, to be shared by the occupant of the 3rd bedroom, although there is a separate downstairs loo. The swimming pool is great and there is a shady terrace where we spent most of our time. The owners Mme & M Armangue were very welcoming and accommodating. We would happily recommend this property to those who enjoy outdoor activities and wild countryside and would definitely consider a repeat visit!
