CASTELLANE GORGES DU VERDON HOUSE WITH LARGE GARDEN

The property was as it was in the photos..! With some extras not shown in them as a nice surprise (garden furniture and large BBQ). The hosts were lovely people and came and checked a few times that everything thing was OK. The house was quite cool even without having air conditioning as the window blinds and canopy kept the heat of the day (30C +) out of the house. Kitchen is well supplied with all the equipment we needed. Would stay again..!

Nice cottage and large enclosed garden. Ideal for the dogs. Castellane centre 10 min walk.

Great location in a quiet cul de sac on the outskirts of Castellane. Easy 10 minute walk to town & just a few minutes walk to the supermarket. The house has eveything you need for a very enjoyable stay. Philippe the owner is very helpful & knowledgeable about the area too

We have been to Castellane several times before. This is a lovely town surrounded by hills/mountains, perfect for touring the Gorge of Verdon. I think not too many people know of this spectacular gorge, but it really is astounding. Castellane has several businesses that specialise in rafting trips down the Verdon river - a really exciting white water trip! There are many other places to visit, including the Castillon lake, just a short drive outside Castellane - we spent many hours basking in the sun and swimming in the lovely turquoise water (no charge to access this relaxing area). Phillipe and Francoise were very welcoming, and the house was very clean with all one would need, including a barbecue area on the patio. We took our dog, and the garden was spacious and secure. Non-dog-owners and non-smokers please note that there was no evidence of dog or smoking smells at all in this stylish house. There is WiFi available in the house. We could park right outside the gate, and a walk to town is an easy10-15 minutes. Castellane has many outside cafes, on the town square or shaded back streets. The outstanding feature is the lovely Dame du Roc chapel that oversees the town - a dramatic illuminated site at night. This is a gruelling walk to get up to, but the view high over the town is well worth the effort! We thoroughly recommend this place… many thanks Francoise & Phillipe!

A very nice house, with everything you need for a relaxed vacation. The description and photo's give the right impression of the house. It is located in a quiet nabourhood, but also close to a supermarket for your daily shopping and just a few minutes walk from the centre of Castellane. Close to the wonderful Gorges du Verdon. The owner makes you feel at home. We spent one week in the house and really enjoyed it.
