Chalet 4 personnes en campagne proche de la forêt, d'étangs (animaux bienvenus)

the location is stunning the host is very nice and responsive but unfortunately the property has not been cleaned prior to our arival it was dusty, sticky and the toiled smelled of wee. We where very disappointed. We do travel a lot as a family and I have seen a number of properties. This one needs a deep clean . It has been advertised for a family but the indoor dining table is way to small like the water cooker for a family of 5 (and my kids are still small). I would have loved to rate it higher as the host and his daughter are very nice but the price we paid (high season ) was just way to high for the standard of this house is offering. Im not a hotel fan but I could have paid half for the 2 days in a cleaner hotel incl. Breakfast. Sorry

TRES CORRECT POUE COURT SEJOUR

We stayed here for two nights as a change to usual mid-France hotel stop-offs, and we are glad we did. Friendly owner Patrice speaks little English but aided by Ocean and Vincent - none of whom live nearby - they made us most welcome and soon explained the basics. Everything worked fine, bar the gas oven (could not light it) and kettle (could not find an off switch!) This wooden mini house is on a park, well spaced, on the edge of forest. Easily accessed, there is secure gated parking. It's near two ponds (many carp, not big but lots of them - fishing ticket just 5euro at local shop). Souvigny village is a short 10 minute walk. It's really quaint, with a church at heart of a lawned square - we saw a wedding on Saturday afternoon! There are two places to eat, a good small patisserie and small store (beware some stuff is out of date, but it's worth going into). The village brocante is a find too...a musty/dusty Aladdin's cave of tons of old stuff, run by a friendly old lady who had just taken in two orphaned tiny kittens...aah! Thanks Patrice & co, we enjoyed our stay.
