Chalet du Faubourg & Jacuzzi, proximité Gerardmer & La Bresse

Nice sunny house letting in light (despite the dark red/orange walls) but garden isn't fenced off (we had our small dog who kept running off). Plunge pool very welcome in the heat; jacuzzi smelt strongly and is in the basement- we didn't use it. House is clean and the kitchen is very well equipped. There is nothing extra in the house e.g. washing up liquid or washing powder, and not even a bath mat. It would be helpful to have more information about the area - maps, places to eat, info about recycling and bins, walking tracks etc. How about a notice board for visitors to share places to visit, or a framed map on the wall? Bedrooms are minimal and our mattress was uncomfortable- no bedside lamps at all; lighting in general was quite poor- actually difficult to read in the evenings because there are only limited ceiling lights. Only one toilet and one bathroom- not enough for a full house. Very enjoyable visit; really recommend the area for walking and outdoor activities; but the house needs more lights and TLC.
