Chalet in the Portes du Soleil

Lovely , cosy chalet. Had everything we needed and will defiantly return.

Everything was great and as expected. Owners were responsive and helpful. Kitchen very well stocked.Only negative was very slow internet before it totally failed on one evening. Surprised the beds were not made when we arrived late at night and had to make them ourselves - consequently we did not strip them when we left.

Perfect base for skiing and walking!

A lovely property spotlessly clean with everything you could ask for to make your stay go smoothly. A beautiful view from the balcony. A garage to store your mtb bikes & keep them secure. Would definitely stay there again. Andy & Mikki

Its been 35 years since I skied in Chatel, its got bigger!!! The chalet is located 5-6 miles from the main ski school area of Pre La Joux. It takes about 10 mins in the car. Parking is easy if you arrive early at Pre La Joux say 08:15am, time to relax have a coffee put the boots on and get the kids into Ski School. There is an Inter Mache supermarket near the chalet, with cheap petrol and everything you will need. Be aware supermarkets didn't seem to open on Sunday and nothing after 7pm, so dont arrive late and expect to buy food. Parking in Chatel is scarce, so we went the other way into La Chapple and found lovely restaurants. So back to the Chalet, as the title says it was great. It was clean, and all the items that make a stay easier were present. Would I recommend Chalet Dow...yes, the hosts Rebecca and Sam gave very helpful advice, which we took. (such as the ski rental at Vertical Horizons, James was very helpful). Our family was very comfortable at Chalet Dow. Many Thanks

Everything we needed to enjoy a week away as a family, skiing area was a short drive away, the house had a great social space and a really relaxed feel. Communication with the host was friendly and helpful, highly recommend.

Convenient location with all the necessary facilities, without the ludicrous expense of ski in ski out. We come back year after year.
