Chalet Miel de la Cayolle-Estenc

😊: Location. 😢: Attitude of the owner. No hot water for about 20 hours. Charged 30 euros for logs we did not use. Would not recommend anyone to stay here..

😊: Amazing location, very tranquil with views of the mountain. Beautiful area with lots of hikes and trails. The host was very friendly, the apartment was spacious, cosy and beautifully decorated in Mountain style with lots of wood and rugs. Huge shower and eveything modern. Lots of outdoor comfy seating to watch the sun go down. Had a great stay.. 😢: We didn't realise we wouldn't be alone at the chalet. There were various cars and trucks coming and going, it spoiled the feeling of being isolated in the mountains and privacy. That though was likely our fault as it does state apartment in a building, but we didn't realise at the time it was shared ..

😊: A great location for the Mercantour National Park. We didn't have the optional breakfast.. 😢: Make sure you bring enough food for self catering as the nearest small shop is 45 minutes away in Guillaumes, we had been warned that Barcellonette was difficult to reach, but it is a great drive over the Col de la Cayolle. The nearest restaurant was closed..
