Chanvre et Lin 4 etoiles

Jean Paul was an amazing host who supplied us with lots of lovely apple juice and also really helped us when our car broke down. The house was lovely and had a BBQ which we didn't use but was always available. The village is very quaint with a very small shop for bread (and toothbrushes!). Being fairly remote you need a car but theres two large supermarkets about 5 mins away and Selestat offers lots of larger shops as well as good rain connections to Colmer, Basel and Strasbourg. Riegel DB station is only 25 mins away and offers great connections to Basel and Fribourg.

Hosts very accommodating and friendly but not too much of a presence. They have dogs (which they kept safely away from our child), cats, rabbits and chickens. The pool was very cold but beautifully refreshing. We had it to ourselves as no-one else was staying the week we were there. Jean Paul is working on the property still so the cut through through the barn isn’t complete. You need a car to explore the area but most things for children and adults are within 30min drive. Nearest supermarket 3km away. The apartment has fans and very sufficient shutters meaning we didn’t need travel black out blinds for our son. There is a cot if needed too. There isn’t a stair gate but this was manageable with our son who is 3. We will return again, probably with extended family so we fill the 2 two bed apartmebts and the 1 studio apartment. We bbq-ed most days (it’s gas so nice and quick). Would recommend this converted modern fully equipped place to stay.
