Charmante maisonnette et son petit coin de verdure

This stay was just okay for me to be honest. While the hosts were polite and attentive, I personally found them to be a tad passive aggressive and for my taste & a bit too on top of their guests. There were a lot of rules that came with the space including guests must clean the toilet bowl before leaving or risk a negative review. But despite the hosts insistence on cleanliness, the cottage had a lot of grime and dirt in it. There was mould in the shower on the squeegee and I was provided with white towels all which had turned grey from over use. The kitchen had crumbs and dirt in crevices and when I stripped the bed at the end of my stay, the mattress was quite yellowed. The listing also said there was laundry on site but I learned that meant once a week on Friday the host would take your laundry and do it for you. For some this might be a nice gesture but for me I would have preferred to do my own laundry on my own time as opposed to a specific date bc I’d run out of clean clothes from my travels a few days before laundry day. I also like to separate my whites and I only put some things in the dryer but because the way they do it they take one bag of laundry and either hang it or put it all in the dryer, I wasn’t able to wash all of my clothes. It might be a nicer place to stay in the summer when it’s warm, the location was great, close to the train station. It was mainly the temperature and the insistence on cleaning when the space felt dirty where I struggled.
