Charmante petite maison à louer, quartier paisible près du port

If I could sum up our stay here in one word, it would be 'idyllic'. The island is picture-postcard pretty and the house was charming – beautifully presented (the bathroom wouldn't feel out of place in a boutique hotel) and with decorative touches that made it feel like a home-from-home. You can tell the owners love this place and stay here themselves, giving it warmth and comfort far superior to a standard rental. The kitchen was really well equipped too and we really appreciated the detailed welcome pack, which clearly explained how everything works, not just in the house, but also on the island, eg, the tourist tax, recycling, where to park your car before you get the ferry. The owner – who was really quick to respond to any questions and super-helpful – even emailed us this in advance, so we could plan ahead. Also included were recommendations for where to eat, drink and visit, and it was brilliant to have that insider knowledge. We found the house was the perfect base from which to explore the island – entirely by bike, which we loved – being just a few minutes' ride to the nearest (gorgeous) beach and the harbour, yet just far enough from the hustle and bustle to be peaceful and private. Oh yes, the kids would be upset if I didn't mention how much they loved the table tennis table, also provided!

Before even stepping off the ferry we knew it was going to be great! Sarah had been so reactive and helpful with booking and dishing out advice of things to see and do. THe house was really no distance from the port and close to all shops and restaurants. I'd say the house is even better in real life than in the photos!.A really sweet place which is tastefully decorated throughout and had everything we needed. Shame we only had a week's holiday to relax but it really is peaceful so felt we had been away longer. In fact we can't wait to go back and just hope that it will be free next time we want to book it!.
