Charming cottage 5 beds, park in authentic village near Fontainebleau

Nous avons apprécié le confort du gîte (très bien équipé niveau électroménager notamment) ainsi que son immense jardin qui offre un cadre très agréable et reposant. This is a delightful, very well equipped property, set in over 2 acres, giving plenty of space to relax. Pierre is the perfect host. With a tennis court and areas to play volleyball, petanque and football if you wish, keeping active is easy and convenient. It's a short cycle or walk to the bakery, with easy access to the nearest supermarket. There are several lovely countryside walks to enjoy and numerous pretty villages and towns to visit within easy reach by car. Travelling from the UK could not be simpler as the location is only some 4 hours from Calais.

This gîte was fully equipped with everything we needed. We enjoyed being in the big beautiful garden, where our kids had fun playing tennis and football. The hosts were friendly and helpful. They really do everything to make your stay as pleasant as possible. Thanks Monique and Pierre!

Un petit bout de campagne comme on les aime. Superbe séjour dans une maison très agréable, bien équipée et proche de toutes commodités. Cette belle propriété est très bien entretenue et il y fait bon vivre. Les espaces extérieurs sont parfaits, particulièrement avec des enfants. Il y a tout ce qui faut pour s’amuser tennis , volley , foot, petanque, sans oublier le ruisseau et d’autres surprises... Ce lieu regorge de charme pour le plus grand plaisir des petits et des grands.... Un petit mot pour l’accueil. Pierre et Monique sont des hôtes vraiment charmants et très attentionnés. Nous sommes ravis d’avoir fait leur connaissance. Nous reviendrons c’est promis.

We have had a great time in this house. The owner is honest and kind. The property is clean and in a safe neighborhood. Ground floor is air-conditioned. First floor is not and usually it is okay unless there is an unexpected heat wave like what we have had. Our kids enjoyed playing close to the river and feeding hens and ducks. The town has no mobile net and It was difficult for us to get to the property easily. I was not given the exact location of the property in advance. Upon check in we were told that utility is not inclusive. The owner would calculate how much did we consume then we have to pay for electricity. In addition, cleaning fees (40 euros) didn't include the cleaning of towels. The owner would calculate how many towel did I use then charge me 4 euro for each towel as an additional cleaning fee. In summary, we enjoyed our stay and I recommend this property for those who would like to have a quite and safe place in country-side.

Our family of fived stayed in this property for one week. It was clean, tidy and in a lovely location. The children (aged 14, 13 and 9) loved the very large gardens and playing in the small river. Whilst in a very rural location the property is conveniently located for a day trip into paris via train. There is also plenty to explore in the local area including forests, castles and lakes for swimming. Overall we had a lovely time and felt very welcomed by our host.

What a wonderful place to spend our summer holidays! We booked Gîte De l'Orvanne, which is the smaller of the two gîtes under the same roof, and stayed there for two weeks. Pierre made us feel very welcome at our arrival and was happy to advise us at any time with tips for excursions and restaurants. The gîte is nice and clean and very comfortable. It is a charming 200 year old farm that has been modernized completely in a tasteful modern style. It has modern equipment like basin mixer taps, a Nespresso coffee maker, satellite tv and a washing machine. We will surely remember the beautiful garden. It is exceptionally large and has an interesting variety of trees. Throughout the day the garden offered lots of nice sunny and shadowy spots. The garden is bordered by the Lunain river -- we really enjoyed rowing the boat that is available to the guests of both gîtes. We also spent a lot of time on the private tennis court. Paris is just over an hour's drive away (90 km). We also enjoyed visiting the towns of Fontainebleau (30 km) and Sens (40 km), the palace of Vaux-le-Vicomte (50 km), Provins (60 km) and the Parc des Félins (70 km). There is very little to do in the village of Paley itself, except perhaps some nice walking trails, but there is plenty of beautiful nature in the surroundings. We would certainly recommend Gîte De l'Orvanne to anyone looking for a relaxing and comfortable stay in France.

I was traveling for work in France and like to avoid generic hotels. This cottage was perfect. It's in the most beautiful setting complete with sheep and chickens though neither make noise to keep you awake ;-) The cottage was really clean, spacious and well appropriated with everything I needed. The location is easily accessible with beautiful drives connecting the nearby villages. The host, Pierre, was extremely gracious and attentive and went out of his way to make sure that I had a wonderful experience. I would definitely recommend this cottage.
