😊: Château du Jonquier has a beautiful historic atmosphere and, at first glance, great potential. The building is surrounded by a large and lovely garden with magnificent huge plane trees. The garden also features a pond with fish and a gazebo, a fountain, and a well-maintained clean swimming pool with plenty of sun loungers. Unfortunately, due to the cold weather, we were not able to use it. There is also a small chapel next to the château. The location is quite good, approximately 30 minutes from Avignon or Gordes, so the place can be very attractive for both relaxation and trips. We also appreciated the well-equipped kitchen. There is also a grand piano inside, adding to the château’s historic atmosphere.. 😢: Unfortunately, during our stay we encountered several problems. The biggest disappointment was the cleanliness. In the wardrobes in the rooms, we found used clothes, socks and muddy boots. In the bathroom, there was used toothpaste left behind, and there was hair in the cabinets. It is a pity that the towels were dark grey, which did not give an impression of cleanliness; moreover, a dead insect fell out of one of the towels. Shower gel was missing in some of the rooms. Another issue was the lack of privacy. The toilet was part of the bathroom directly inside the bedroom, without a door, which we found very impractical and uncomfortable. The curtains in the rooms could not be moved or closed. On the bathroom window, which was directly opposite the caretaker’s window, there was only a sheer curtain, so in our opinion the privacy was insufficient. The historic floor tiles in the rooms had been painted red, but the paint was clearly not suitable for this type of surface or was not sufficiently durable. The red paint was transferred on shoe soles into the bathrooms, which looked very unattractive and further worsened the overall impression of cleanliness. The floor throughout the property was uneven and slippery, which could be a concern, especially for children. There was also a lack of outdoor lighting, which made moving around the property in the evening less comfortable. When we arrived, during cold weather, the château had not been heated and it was cold inside. It was possible to heat some rooms using air conditioning units, but only a half of the rooms had them, the remaining rooms did not. It was also cold in the toilets and common areas. The indoor fireplace was not allowed to be used. The mattresses were thin and very soft, and the bed linen had not been ironed, and there were no wardrobes with hanging rails, so it was not possible to properly hang clothes..
