Very relaxing stay in an...<br>#128578; Located in a pleasant small town alongside the river. The owners had their own vineyard and the wine was excellent.<br>#128577; The pool area was pleasant but water very cold. Wi-Fi was poor.

Très bon accueil. Gîte grand, calme, bien aménagé, avec du cachet, cheminée… espace extérieur sécurisé pour les enfants. Les propriétaires sont très discrets. La visite du chai est intéressante tant sur le plan des techniques de vinification que sur l’histoire de la région et de ses habitants. Un coin à revenir.

A great stay overall. Hubert the Chateau owner is very friendly and helpful. The bedroom we stayed in was huge. We stayed the third week of september so a little chilly in the mornings when you got out of the shower!! Kitchen is fully equipped and a lovely big table for everyone to eat around inside and out. The surrounding countryside is beautiful with plenty of cycle paths and Chinon is 3 miles away and easily walked/cycled to. All in all a great stay.

We were lucky enough to spend a week in this gorgeous gite in Riviere with some friends. The building is the former stables of the chateau and has been renovated beautifully to showcase the old wooden beams and stonework. The owner, Hubert, was incredibly welcoming and friendly, giving us a tour of the gite on arrival, and allowing us to wander around the chateau property as we liked. Well-equipped kitchen with dishwasher, clothes washer and dryer, comfortable beds, plenty of towels. There is wood provided for the cosy fireplace, and great outdoor seating to enjoy all the Autumn sunshine that we were lucky enough to have. The medieval town of Chinon is about 5 minutes drive away, and has two large supermarkets, lots of smaller food shops, a range of restaurants, cafes and wine stores, and lots to see and do. The breathtaking River Vienne is only a couple of hundred metres from the front door, and provides a great walking track along the river bank. I would highly recommend a stay at this property!
