Château sur un domaine d'exception à 1h20 de Paris

What an incredible week long experience we have had at the Chateau Bouthonvilliers!! We chose the location as a backdrop for our wedding of 28 guests, and it was the most beautiful and perfect experience we could have ever dreamed of having. Even the weather was pristine, which resulted in daily pool visits in the incredible walled in garden space. The chateau is authentic and rustic in the very best way. The hosts, Alexia and Edouard, were so gracious and polite and patient with all of our questions and requests. I could not be more pleased with our experience. The chateau is placed in the countryside and very private. We had all of our daily meals scheduled with the wonderful catering and support staff, Virginnie and Pauline, and the food was absolutely fresh and delicious. The wine cellar is really unique, being below the small chapel, and the selection of wine and beer was perfection. We will never forget our time at the Chateau, and hope to visit in future years. I cannot express enough how thankful we are for such a wonderful time in the most perfect setting. Everyone was able to relax and spend their time without any stress or worries. Truly the most unique and enjoyable time we have ever had in our lives. Thank you Alexia and Edouard for the most perfect and incredible vacation of our dreams. We had an amazing time at the Chateau! Edouard and Alexia are amazing hosts, deeply kind and attentive, and their home was absolutely gorgeous! It was an honor to learn the history of the main house and the whole property, from one of the family members who grew up there! Plus everything was a stunning backdrop to our retreat. Can't wait to go back!

Our stay at the chateau was magical. Edoaurd and Alexia are such wonderful hosts, and the chateau and grounds are stunning. We had multiple catered meals, horse rides, and pony rides (my daughter loved it!) and everything was excellent. Because the chateau is Edouard’s family home, it feels extra warm and welcoming - the paintings of his family down through the generations that are hung throughout the house are wonderful. I was there with my husband and two children (3 y/o and 1 y/o), mother and father in-law, and 4 friends, and we had the best time there. We played some croquet on the lawn, went for pretty walks around the grounds, enjoyed the kids play area (not sure I recall seeing it pictured but it was such a hit with the kids!) and generally just enjoyed the place. I recalled reading a review that described it as “life giving” and I think that’s probably the best summary. The only negative was the very end, when the cleaners came before check out to start cleaning for the next guests, and they kept blocking the door when we were trying to get our bags into the taxi and they didn’t speak English so couldn’t understand me when I asked them to please just clean a different area for a few minutes while we left. I suspect it was a communication error with Edouard as he apparently asked my father in law if the cleaners could come early and he was fine with it since he was leaving at 9am, but I felt a bit frustrated by that as I was the host of the stay and I was not leaving until 10am and things are always a bit hectic with two little kids when packing and getting ready for a flight, so that plus trying to weave around cleaners and all the rest just added to it in a frustrating way. I wish they had coordinated the check-out and cleaning changes with me as the host, but I think it was just communication mistake as Alexia and Edoaurd are so nice and they had built a rapport with my friends and family as well and felt comfortable coordinating things directly with them, but it just didn’t work well that time. Anyhow, all the rest was absolutely fantastic and I can’t speak highly enough of this chateau. I highly recommend it and hope we can visit them again one day! The whole week was like a dream and I hope we are lucky enough to get to experience it again one day.

The house is absolutely amazing. Very traditional, a little rustic, a ton of charm. Quiet dinners, party all night and a relaxing day at the pool or on a horseback. Everything is possible and Edouard and Alexia help you with everything you could wish for. A perfect host for a perfect place. We were 20 people celebrating my birthday for one week and we fell in love with the place a little more each day. All in our 30s and experienced in renting big houses - this was the one with the most charm so far.

Nous avons passé un magnifique week-end à Dangeau! Tous mes invités ont été ravis de leur séjour. Les enfants ont adoré la balade à poney (option) la piscine et les adultes l’atmosphère élégante chaleureuse d’un château familial. Voici quelques-uns de leurs commentaires: « beau château », «cadre exceptionnel », « de rêve »... Un grand merci à Alexia pour ses précieux conseils lors de ma préparation de ce week-end et à Édouard pour sa passionnante visite guidée du domaine !

If I can have my choice I prefer to stay at hotels because of the consistency of the experience. This stay might bring me back to house rentals more often. Edouard and his wife are very kind and helpful. They made the entire process of arriving to leaving enjoyable. I hope to bring my extended family back.

We just left Chateau de Bouthonvillier, and all I can say is WOW. We hosted a photography event here, and we couldn't have been more impressed. The property is amazing. If you like old, historic buildings with lots of charm and beautiful antiques, this is the place for you. Every room was gorgeous and staying here made us feel like we had stepped back in time (but with all the comforts of the modern day!). Eduoard and Alexia were incredible hosts as well. They went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable and tended to our every need. We also had all our meals catered through the chateau, and they were delicious. I really can't say enough good things about our stay. We would highly recommend Chateau de Bouthonvilliers to anyone!

We were two families with a total of 6 children from 1 to 9 years old. Despite the weather being slightly cooler than normal for the time of year, we had a wonderful stay relaxing in the amazing house and gardens, and by the pool. We only felt the need for a couple of half-day trips to nearby towns. Edouard and Alexia were very welcoming and friendly. In short - definitely recommended!
