Chatenet self catering stone House for 2 South West France

😊: Lovely gîte just on the outskirts of Sauzé entre Bois run by a very pleasant couple called Mel and Richard. Location gives a good balance of quiet as there is a large back garden with an unheated pool that is very secluded, but also near enough to facilities with a supermarket, bakery etc. about half a mile down the road. You can walk under the railway through fields to get there too. Place had everything we needed for cooking, there is a good library of English books if you want to read and outside games to amuse yourselves as well as lots of guinea pigs wandering around. Boiler had broken on our arrival but was fixed the next day and Richard kindly gave us a lift to the nearest station when we left. Definitely worth a stay if you're in the area.. 😢: Nothing with the gîte but beware that if you're visiting without a car, public transport is very limited. This wasn't an issue for us as we were visiting my aunt in the town who was able to show us around, but if you do like a holiday where you don't drive, this would be a perfect location if you want a relaxing few days but you might be frustrated if you were thinking of using it as a base and getting out and about by bus or train..
