Chez Laurence Olivier up to 12 - heated private pool - dogs ok - 3 parkings

We loved the house and the surroundings. The welcome and privacy were great. We'd love to come back some time and enjoy the friendliness and the great pool again.

We stayed at the gîte for 10 days - with my husband and teenage daughter. The gîte is basically built around two sides of the pool with the main bedroom and bathroom at one end and the twin )bunk beds) bedroom and a toilet at the other end. Living areas in the middle. There is good a/c in the living area and master bedroom but none in the twin. Cooking facilities are minimal but there is a large fridge freezer and a decent gas barbecue supplied with gas. Laurence and her husband live in the house but have screened it off so that you have access to one of the terraces with outdoor dining area and a seating area. The pool area has sun loungers etc. The garden is nicely planted and well maintained and there is a view of the Pyrenees mountains. It is easily walkable into the village for supplies and the walk around the lake is pleasant and largely shaded. Tons to do in the area. We did a trip down the coast into Spain, a day in Andorra, Couilliore is beautiful etc.

From the pre-arrival communications and throughout the duration of our stay, Laurence and Olivier were fantastic hosts, helping with any queries we had. Maintaining a great balance of being there when needed but respecting your privacy - couldn’t have hoped for a more welcoming couple. The property was clean and exactly like the pictures, situated in a private space. The gite is close to the village centre and 15 mins from the beach, we also took a day trip to Barcelona. There is plenty to do in the region but between the beach and pool at the property, we were very happy with our stay!!

The property is purpose-built as an extension to the owner's house in a secure garden. Well thought out with bedrooms at each end, good aircon and ventilation. Pool is just right size though has no shallow end (c. 5 feet deep) so not good for very small children. Good self-catering facilities with all-day supermarket about 10 minutes walk away. A nice country walk 2 minutes away. Position: very good for beaches (15 minute drive) and hills. 20 minutes drive into Perpignan. Owners very nice and helpful though their English was about as good as my French. I'd go back.
