Just what we needed. Peace in the countryside, plenty to do near by.

Lieu idyllique pour les personnes cherchant une tranquillité absolue. La piscine était à nous seuls, nous avons eu de la chance car les autres maisons étaient vides. La maison est très jolie et parfaitement fonctionnelle pour une famille ou groupe de 6 personnes. Les équipements sont bien et suffisamment en nombre pour garder un certain confort, plein de jeux de sociétés, un terrain de boule... Très très bon souvenir. Le point d'amélioration serai le chauffage de la piscine. Elle permettrait de rendre le lieu encore plus parfait et il ont parfaitement les conditions pour une installation avec un chauffage solaire garantissant le côté nature du lieu.

We had a lovely week in this house. The accommodation was perfect for 2 adults and 3 children (including 2 teens). Sarah, the owner, was in touch with us to make sure everything was ok and had thought of everything we could have needed for a perfect holiday, including beach towels. We made good use of the pool which was lovely and so was the view. There is lots to do in the area including kayaking, lake beaches, and some great restaurants nearby. We would certainly consider returning, and would definitely recommend it.

Nous avons passé un séjour très agréable avec nos 3 enfants dans ce gite très confortable et très fonctionnel. Endroit vraiment tranquille et bucolique. le manque d'activités touristiques et ludiques n'a pas été finalement trop gênant.

We had a wonderful week here exploring the lakes and rivers, shopping in colourful markets, splashing about in the pool and enjoying the wonderful views and starry night skies. The house is really lovely to come home to after a day out in the sun (it was 44 degrees at times) and by the end of the week the children (aged 7 and 4) said it felt like home. We particularly valued the fact it was so well equipped - the beach towels we're so useful - and the large number of bathrooms felt a real luxury. Thank you Sarah and family for making it such a relaxing and memorable stay.

We travelled as two adults and two teenage children and this property had everything we needed for a peaceful holiday in a beautiful, tranquil setting. The property is located in a small hamlet with farmland all around and the one permanently-resident farmer has free-range chickens and a lovely friendly dog - which was an added bonus to us. There is an off-road parking spot which is easy to access. The house has absolutely everything we could have hoped for - three large twin rooms with beautiful ensuite bathrooms, tastefully decorated. The main living room and farmhouse-style kitchen are all one room, and there are more than sufficient plates, cups and glasses for a horde or people, let alone our four. There's a good stock of English-language books and DVDs, and a really good TV network with a great selection of English-language channels. Internet is reliable and fast. The mobile phone reception is only moderate, but we were warned about that. The house was spotless on arrival with lots of unexpected extras - enough dishwasher tablets for the whole week, and washing powder, plus basic necessities like oil, salt and pepper and tea. Outside there is a lovely small terrace, overlooking extensive and well-kept lawns. Further on there is an unheated swimming pool, which has a secure fence round it, and a petanque (boules) court. We drove out to go canoeing on a nearby river, and there are plenty of historical sites to see as well. This is unspoiled France, utterly traditional, completely uncrowded. There is a small village about 3 miles away, with a traditional French bakery (complete with traditionally-eccentric opening hours) and a small deli. Within 7 miles there are several small towns with lots of restaurants and a decent-sized supermarket. The other houses in the hamlet are mostly foreign-owned, mostly by English people and not usually let out. So in August we had the entire place to ourselves, which suited us very well. If you are looking for a busy, sociable holiday with lots of other people, this is not your place. But if you want sunflowers, complete silence (apart from the companionable cluck of happy chickens), fresh air, beautiful views and a real rest, come here. This property would suit families of all ages, and is reasonably accessible if you have someone in your party with a mild mobility impairment - it's a very short walk down a gentle slope from the car park to the house, and one of the bedrooms is on the ground floor.
