😊: This a studio apartment located on the 2nd floor of the building (an attic conversion) with south facing windows. The description of this studio on the website is fairly accurate. It is clean and nearly finished and it has all modern conveniences even if the kitchen layout was odd and relied on extension leads.. 😢: I stayed at Belle Alsace 6 for 5 nights. I got concerned when I messaged them three times but got no response until getting a message after arrival that said they had received nothing from me. The earlier messages were clear to be seen in the thread. On arrival we discovered we had been given the wrong access code so could not get the key. Regretably, it is what the website does not say that spoils this location. On arrival you are greeted by a rubbish mound telling you the bins have not been emptied in a long time. They were not emptied during my stay. The gate and front door are not lockable so the building is not secure or safe. The stairs are steep and unsuitable for anyone with mobility issues. The conversion is ok but is unfinished and in some cases not fit for purpose. For example, the door to the shower room/toilet is difficult to close and because it is glass on both sides it is unsafe. There are holes around the beams and pipes through to voids where you can hear that birds or something worse have nested. The shower is set next to a sloping ceiling which means you can only use it by holding the showerhead. There is no shower curtain or door which means that hard as you try water comes out onto the floor. The shower sealant is dirty. Only one out of three lights worked. The unit is on two levels with a very steep and narrow set of wooden steps joining them. The small banister is not secure. Heaven help anyone who needs to get to the toilet during the night. Unfortunately, one thing it does not have is an air conditioner. In August, when the outside temperature reaches 31-33 C, the temperature inside is 36C unhealthy and unsafe. Opening all windows and switching on the fan provided does not help at all. It was impossible to stay inside between 11 AM and 8 PM let alone do any work (I teach online). So I had to go and find an Internet cafe to do my online work. In conclusion, a nicely furnished studio a nicely furnished studio but best avoided in summer!.
