Really enjoyed our stay. The kids loved the place. Fantastic to have somewhere you can let the kids just run around as you relax outside. Some nice touches e.g. books left for the kids/adults to read, equipment like potties/stepstools etc. Richard, the owner, was on hand for any queries. Rural location so car is needed. Going back again this summer :)

This is the perfect location for a relaxed holiday with preteen kids: 2015 was our second holiday and are booked again for 2016. We'd had lovely holidays in Turkey Portugal prior to this but nowhere we wanted to return to. The main selling points are: comfortable accommodation (but not luxury, no need to stress about kids wrecking anything!), mix of private sociable areas, lovely pool, very safe for even small children, but most of all, all the children (from the 5 gites) end up playing together, so the adults can relax. The kids run out in the morning in their pj's to check on the hens and see who is up: they can start playing with friends while you sit in bed with a coffee! Plenty to do in the local area, decent supermarket 10 mins by car. Borrow the communal bikes and cycle to the local pub/ bistro. BBQ in the evening outside your gite, get the kids in bed and relax with a glass of local wine-bliss! We fly into La Rochelle and hire a car, so only an hour and 15 mins drive.

We love it here. We have 2 girls age 4 and 6 and have been staying at La Vendange each summer for the past 4 years. It is perfect for children, very safe, with an enclosed garden and two lovely heated pools. There are swings, a slide, a trampoline and a shaded sandpit, not forgetting the chickens and quails all of which the children love. There are plenty of lovely things to do in the surrounding area, enough to keep you and the children busy for 2 weeks if you wish (even if the weather inclement). Or just relax at the gites where the children will play with their new friends.
