Domaine de La Retardière , heated swimming pool

Host was welcoming and accommodating to us. Facilities were great, and property was perfect size for our large group so we could all have nice rooms and large communal space for dining together etc. Lots of plates and cooking equipment etc.

The most amazing property with superb views, oodles to do for entertainment. The pool and spa facilities are amazing and all the sports equipment were well used by our family group. There was 38 of us, across three generations and we would visit again in a heart beat!

Plenty of things to do. Good space well equipped. Perfect for my rage family groups.

This is an amazingly beautiful period property with lots of original features, we chose this property because it was so beautiful, we held our wedding ceremony there and everything was perfect, the property was very clean and tidy and had everything we needed, we were a party of 45 people and it did not feel crowded. The pool was a welcome addition to the property also.You would need a car if staying her as not accessible by public transport, but we knew that before booking.

We were a group of 22 adults 1 child.We had a fabulous time,so much space in the grange and Manoir,loads of things to do,in & around the house,the swimming pool with the retractable roof was an absolute triumph and kept all very happy.we were able to visit many of the lovely places within easy distance of the house.There is a railway station nearby which made travelling into Tours very easy,it also enabled us to pick up members of the party who arrived by train very easily.Futuroscope was within easy travelling time and some of the youngsters travelled there by car.David & Angelina( the owners) were very easy to contact,and always replied promptly to any queries we had.We would all recommend La Retardiere to anyone looking for a big,comfortable fun filled holiday destination.

Very good for a large family holiday we had small grandchildren and they loved the pool. Lots of space for everyone would recommend and would definitely go again. Angelina and David could not have been more helpful

Villa holiday Floor sticky , dirty , birds mess , tree residue ??? When cleaned last , no wardrobe in bedrooms to store clothes Swing outside dangerous Pool filthy green around top . Tables used before us and not wiped Broken windows in main hse bedroom with bath Broken window in main house very dangerous for everyone Broken window hot tub room opposite side of building Pool house glazing filthy Sofa broken in pool table building, ends fall off Windows don’t open in top main bedroom ? Blinds or windows faulty. Road edge needs a small wire fence along , as we were continuialy stopping our children wandering due to unsafe road edge. Upstairs bath toilet , disgusting needs a soak of bleach . Infestation of ants on tables n floor outside also main house kitchen work surfaces To many cushions missing from outside sofa Plug unsafe n hanging off in kitchen n upstairs main top bedroom Pool dirty on arrival and very dirty now Ants in main house kitchen Shower tray takes 6/7 hrs to drain Pool floor decking broken n sharp Umbrella by pool snapped and removed at our request by guardians as dangerous and pointy, no umbrella replacement given , now so hot over the pool area with no protection from sun for children Induction job only works on one area , several other pans tried from other building, still didn’t work Washing machine has decided to stop working halfway through cycles . 18 people need clothes cleaned at some point Son fixed the problem as impeller had become jammed The door frames in the barn building come apart , and my family have to put them back . There are spindles missing in the bannisters in barn , totally unsafe for children. Pool glass doors filthy Pool filled with water after 4 days , never cleaned or filled after , dirty water at bottom of pool throughout

An excellent return to France after missing out due to Covid The family is growing and we need a larger holiday home each year. La Retardiere accommodated 17 of us very easily. The location is rural but there are many attractions within short drives. Nothing to complain about The enclosed pool was the firm favourite We hope to return soon
