Duplex quartier piéton

😊: Great little apartment in the centre of the village. Good aircon & blackout. Very clean and well renovated with good quality materials. Slightly strange putting 2 single beds in the living area. But if you’re out all day it doesn’t matter I guess. Magnificent for 2 people though!. 😢: Very expensive but we booked last minute so to be expected to a degree… Still, 2.5 time what the average cost is..

😊: The reception people were very friendly and the facilities were clean and in relatively good shape. It was also nice to be in the center of the boutique district and quite close to the waterfront. Further, it was a plus that it was dog-friendly.. 😢: The stairs going up to the first floor were very steep and hard to negotiate. This was very stressful for my knees, causing them to be quite painful and therefore making it very uncomfortable to walk while I was visiting Collioure. At least there was a railing to hold onto but that didn't negate the issue of steepness. Coming downstairs, the outside door opened inward against the bottom step and one had to go back up the stairs to open it wide enough to be able to exit. The stairs to the second floor weren't quite as steep but also there was no railing, so it was tricky going up and down especially when carrying luggage. Both flights of stairs were a fall hazard. Furthermore there was no comfortable place, like an easy chair, to sit in the second floor area, so the accommodations didn't lend themselves to relaxing in the middle of the day or taking a break from exploring, nor would one want to negotiate those stairs again unnecessarily. The closest parking place was quite a distance, which added to the general level of discomfort although it is certainly not the fault of the property owner.
