😊: Very well appointed and plenty of space, everything we needed was supplied. 😢: The key collection was a bit of a nightmare. We never received the instructing communication via booking.com and so telephoned the hosts who spoke no English and while we established the key code our French was not up to understanding that the lock box was hidden to the right of the entrance. The staircase to the bedroom was unsuitable for octogenarians..

😊: The apartment is as shown in the very professional pictures. Breakfast provided in the fridge for the 2 nights was fine.. 😢: For the premium price there is a lack of attention to detail, neither TV's worked during our visit, the provided record player didn't work well, some lamps didn't work or had no bulbs fitted, some shelves in the lounge area hadn't been cleaned for months The biggest issue for us was the outlook and location, the apartment entrance is round the back of the old post office building and not very nice, the office is still working and workers line up on a raised platform smoking etc and looking directly into the apartment so you need to keep the blinds down for any privacy at all. The 'la poste' and 'marchal' apartments are NOT in the same location, we had booked both for 2 couples and wrongly assumed they were in the same block at least however they are some 400 mtrs apart along unlit streets at night. The apartments are in a less favourable part of Saumur IMO, it felt unsafe at night as no street lighting is provided and the first night we were approached by youths on scooters when returning to our apartment which left my wife very unnerved and wanting to leave. I made the owners aware of our concerns after leaving, the owner did at least respond but our concerns were denied or ignored. Overall we paid a premium price for a special stay to celebrate a special anniversary which was ruined by our overall experience..
