Traditional old-Style house, very spacious and comfortable. We were two families with older kids, all loved it! The garden with lots of plants and the pool, and different outdoor areas to sit together. Kitchen a bit out of date but functional. Lovely host, thank you for everything Marie-Pierre!

This beautiful, classic traditional architecture Corsican home has beautiful dreamy views of the ocean in front and of soaring mountains on the side. We spent two full days just enjoying the pool and Mediterranean atmosphere of the property. (A wild boar running down the mountain also surprised us on our first day (outside the fence around the property.). The property is located about a 5 minutes drive above the charming town of a Erbalunga which looks like a Corsican version of the village in Mamma Mia. A beautiful square with several umbrellaed restaurants and cafes, locals playing pétanque (bocce in French) kids playing soccer all with great mountain and sea views, a little stone harbor and several buildings with crumbling facades that looked like backdrops of the Metropolitan opera. The negatives of the propriety is that it is not air conditioned (which marie Pierre the owner fully disclosed and no screens and it gets warm at night(about 75 degrees). We had fans which were very helpful. The property is also located in the northeast of Corsica which has rocky beaches (the best beaches are on the west coast and south side) but on the upside access to beautiful cap corse which we spent a day exploring. We also did a day trip to Calvi (about 2hrs Drive e) which has gorgeous beaches set between soaring mountains and an ancient village), as well as a day trip to Corte and national park one of the most beautiful and dramatic hikes of our lives. Marie Pierre the owner was helpful. Our only recommendation would be to have a little handbook as to how things work like the clothes dryer, a couple more sun umbrellas (there was only one) and a bit better equipped kitchen.

This property has a magnificent view and plenty of character with lots of wonderful outdoor space to relax . Marie - Pierre was a very warm host and did her best to make us feel at home.

The owner Marie Pierre was charming. She greeted us when we arrived late in the evening and cooked us pasta , and came to see us on our last evening during a dramatic storm- which was very helpful as the electricity kept fusing and she knew where all the candles were! The house was large and beautiful and has a very calm ambience. The living room is full of art and books and the kitchen well equipped. The view from the garden and of the sun rising over the sea are breathtaking - we spent more time outside than in. The bedrooms are stylish and all different. Two of our children slept up in the apartment upstairs which had a separate roof terrace - another wonderful private area to relax. The only down side was that Marie Pierre has two cats. Although she was not living there during our rental this is her main home which she often runs as a guest house, and the cats live there. Two of our children are very allergic to cats. She arranged with us to keep them in the basement and garden and this was a reasonable compromise. One of us fed them and played with them every day! It did not spoil our holiday but was an initial problem. Good large Geant supermarket about 20 mins drive- excellent Michelin 1 star restaurant in Erbalunga. Can walk down the steep hill into Erbalunga but you would need to take the car if going shopping. Stony local beaches - sea warm and clean. Excellent walks along the Sentier de Douannier in the northern cap and in the mountains near Corte. Ideal place to stay for our large grown up family- wonderful holiday.
