Family house on large lot, direct access to Mont St Michel bay.

The country house and surrounding towns were beautiful, the proximity to water and marsh and fields was refreshing and revitalizing. We came to see Mont Saint-Michel and to celebrate the Liberation with those in the towns near the landing beaches up North. The house was cozy and had all the essentials.

You can tell that this home has been a place where the host’s family has made wonderful memories over many years. I feel so lucky to have been able to continue the tradition with my own family. This is NOT a bland home, with plain decor that you might find in any hotel chain. This home drips with personality, of family history, and reflects the artistry and culture of the local Normandy landscapes. I felt so comfortable here, welcomed. The home has everything you could need for cooking and cleaning. The village of St. Léonard is quaint and rural. The nearest grocery store is about 15 minutes away by car. Same with restaurants, gas stations, and bars. But there’s miles of hiking and biking areas along the rural roads and coastline of Mont Saint Michel bay. It’s perfect for birdwatchers, nature-lovers, and sunset-watchers alike. And the view of Mont Saint Michel and Tombalaine are extraordinary. It was an absolutely delightful stay.

We had a lovely visit at this property. It has the most amazing view of Mont-Saint-Michel (which is even better in person - the photos do not do it justice). It was also a very easy walk to the Ecomusée de la Baie du Mont-Saint-Michel. Sandrine is the perfect host and very responsive. The house had a minor maintenance problem when we were there and it was fixed within an hour of us calling it in. Could not have asked for better service. Not only was it outfitted well for adults (kitchen, towels, linens, etc), but they had a large selection of children's books, toys, and games (for children and adults). The portable crib was also a big bonus! I highly recommend this property.

This property is ideally located to enjoy all Mont-Saint-Michel has to offer! We had a great stay, visited MSM in the morning and explored the mudflats of the bay, right out the back door, in the afternoon. Beautiful view of MSM across the bay from the house. Sandrine was exceptional, very responsive and accommodating! Definitely recommend for families. Thanks for the great experience and unforgettable memories.

We enjoyed our two week stay immensely in this house with a lovely garden over looking Mont Saint Michel. We got into the habit of walking out into the garden to check on "The Mont" at various times throughout the day, as the view was stunning in the constantly changing light. The den was comfortable for reading and conversation. The kitchen was well equipped for reasonably serious cooking. The shower upstairs is small, but the shower in the cellar where the washer and dryer are was spacious and pleasant. The garden tub with a handheld shower head upstairs was nice. Amazingly, all of the mattresses were in great condition, and we all slept well except for the few days that were unseasonably warm (85-90 F). The house is situated on a wonderful hiking/mountain biking trail. We loved popping out of the garden gate and being right on the well maintained trail. The house is also in good proximity to Avranches where there is a grocery store, bakeries, shopping, a medieval battlement, historic cathedral/churches, and a wonderful Scriptorial Museum. We took day trips to Granville and Saint-Malo. We also visited Arromanches and all of the D-Day beaches which are about an hour and a half away. There is an organic creamery just down the road from the house. They have a quaint store that carries their creamery products (which are yummy, especially the caramels!) and also has locally made fresh bread and beer and wine. It was very convenient to stop there and get a few things. We would definitely visit this house again.
