Gite au calme

😊: We had a wonderful stay at Gîte au Calme. Our main reason for visiting the area was cycling, and the location is simply perfect for anyone who enjoys exploring on two wheels. There are countless quiet roads, forest tracks and beautiful viewpoints right from the doorstep. The accommodation itself is surprisingly spacious, offering plenty of room for families or groups of friends. It was clean, comfortable and very well equipped, with everything we needed for a relaxing stay after long days outdoors. The peaceful surroundings and beautiful countryside made it easy to unwind. One of the biggest advantages is the proximity to Switzerland – the border is only a short drive away. We highly recommend visiting the beautiful medieval town of Yvoire on the shores of Lake Geneva (Lac Léman). The scenery around the lake is breathtaking and definitely worth experiencing. If you plan to continue your journey towards the Swiss Alps by car, remember that using Swiss motorways requires a Swiss motorway vignette, so it is worth buying one in advance. Another highlight of our stay was discovering the excellent local cheese produced by the nearby dairy cooperative, of which the host is also a member. The cheese was absolutely delicious – exceptionally delicate, full of flavour and one of the culinary highlights of our holiday. A small tip for future guests: because the property is surrounded by beautiful countryside, it is worth bringing mosquito and insect repellent during the warmer months. This allows you to fully enjoy peaceful evenings outdoors without any unwanted visitors. Finally, we would like to thank our host for the excellent communication before and during our stay. Everything was well organised, and we truly appreciated the warm hospitality. We had a fantastic holiday and would happily return. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a peaceful base to explore the Jura region, Switzerland and even continue their journey towards the Alps..
