Gîte avec jardin au cœur des remparts de Gravelines

😊: The host was there to greet us and kindly practiced his English for us. The property is beautifully decorated, very clean, comfortable and light and airy. The beds are comfortable. The property is sideways on to the ramparts of the town and the road in front is quiet; the apartment is at the back of the building. The patio is laid to paving and gravel, as shown in the photo, so not a garden. Nice to have access to an outside space. Gravelines is a quiet town but very interesting with the ramparts and waterways and a Friday market. There is a free local bus service which is useful to explore the town up towards the sea and to go further afield. The host responded to a query we had quite promptly.. 😢: Be aware that the shower and toilet are on the ground floor. The two bedrooms upstairs are accessed by a very attractive bare wood staircase which is quite steep with a spiral section. The total garden furniture comprises a circular, wooden picnic table with integral seats that we found to be unstable..
