Gîte avec piscine et climatisation au bord du Lot

😊: Maisonette mignonne, un peu serrée à 4 + un toutou mais on a bien profité quand même. Daniel et sa famille sont très chaleureux et réactifs. On ne connaissait pas du tout la région et Daniel nous a donné quelques bons conseils. Il y a des petits villages mignons à découvrir et des balades sympas à faire. On s'est bien ressourcés de nos vacances.

😊: Daniel was waiting for our arrival to hand over the keys and show us into the property. Both Daniel and his wife Sarah were very welcoming and also invited us to have an early evening drink with them on the 1st evening. The kids loved the dogs who were very friendly and often about within the gardens. The pool was a great feature especially to keep the kids entertained and were often still playing in it in the evening. The property is well equipped and ideal for a family of 5..

😊: This was a lovely space, with one very spacious bedroom, bathroom and a kitchen big enough to have a small table. It also had a table with a sun umbrella just outside the kitchen where we could have our meals. The swimming pool is at the back of the house, and very nice, with recliners we could use. It's the family swimming pool, and they were not using it when we were, though were coming out just as we got there. We were not sure whether that was deliberately to leave the pool just for us, not very clear. The hosts were friendly and Daniel could speak English which was very helpful, especially as when we arrived there was a problem with a funny smell. He noticed it himself and said it was not normal. I eventually traced the smell to the back of the fridge and they sorted it out, clearly something a bit unexpected, though it would have been picked up earlier if the house had been aired before our arrival. They gave us a bottle of wine for the disruption which was appreciated. We were there for a wedding in Puy L'Eveque so this was a great location for us and Daniel and Sarah were happy with us coming back very late. It's also very quiet, so can feel very peaceful. Great to lie on the recliners by the pool at night and look at the stars!. 😢: We are not animal people but also don't tend to mind them. The family have several dogs and a cat. Although they were all fairly friendly and ok, it felt a little bit overwhelming on arrival, especially as the younger one is a big dog. This was also tricky when we were eating our evening meal outside, as he was clearly wanting some food. The self catering seemed quite basic, kitchen basically equipped not even tea towel was provided. There were a couple of candles which were helpful to get rid of the initial bad smell that lingered a bit and also helped with the mosquitos when eating outside. So very helpful to have candles! There is a river at the back of the property, but it's really difficult to get to it, I would say quite dangerous as a big slope which gets very slippery, so not really something we'd be using. But of course there is a pool! And lots of lovely lakes and rivers to visit in the nearby areas..
