Gîte calme au coeur de la Champagne

We had a great week. Lovely outdoor space and pool. Spacious living area with big bedrooms and modern bathrooms.

Sehr schönes Objekt, komfortable Zimmer und Bäder, große Räume, sehr schönes Grundstück, sehr nette Gastgeber.

haben wir in Athis verbracht! Das Ferienhaus befindet sich als Nebengebäude auf einem großzügig geschnittenem Anwesen in einem süßen, kleinem Dorf. Unsere Gastgeber waren immer sehr hilfsbereit und freundlich. Sie bewohnen das Hauptgebäude, das von der Straßenseite aus zu sehen ist, waren aber während der Zeit auch einige Tage verreist. Wunderbarer Pool! Noch ein kleiner Hinweis: im August waren einige der Restaurants und Bistros geschlossen, weil in Frankreich zu dieser Zeit ebenfalls Ferien sind. Dennoch konnten wir unsere Zeit dort sehr genießen!

The hosts gave us a warm welcome and were always around for any little queries. The house is beautifully renovated and pristinely clean with comfortable beds and good bathrooms both with powerful showers. Kitchen is fully equipped with plenty of crockery, cutlery etc. A large living room looks out over the beautiful garden and lawn within the courtyard which is secured by an electric gate giving safe off road parking. The living room would benefit from more comfortable seating than the wicker sofa and armchairs currently in place. We enjoyed swimming in the pool which was a great temperature. Right in the middle of the grand cru and premier cru region it is a great spot to travel around champagne tasting and buying for the return home. Overall, highly recommended.

De magnifiques chambres avec de belles salles de bain. Des propriétaires très aimables et serviables. Un endroit très paisible et très bien situé. De très belles vacances.

Beautiful and well maintained property in the peaceful village of Athis. The house is clean, bedrooms spacious and modern bathrooms. The downstairs is all open plan, but this worked for us. Olivier and Francoise were welcoming and dealt with any queries promptly. Things to note: - the garden is quite ornamental, so if you want to play football or ball games there is an excellent playground, recreation centre 5 minutes walk away - the pool is 1.2 metres deep thru out so if you have young swimmers do bring buoyancy aids - the hosts live in the building adjacent, but give you plenty of space, occasionally watering the plants things we enjoying doing - tasting champagne! - cycling along the Marne Canal - visiting light house and twisty trees in Verzy - exotic bird centre but mainly relaxing and splashing in the pool :)

We booked this house as we wanted a quiet spot from which to explore the vineyards near Epernay. The location was only 20 minutes from Epernay, 20 minutes from Chalons-en-Champagne, and 20 minutes from the vineyards at Verzenay which suited us perfectly. The house is a very good size with all the facilities we needed. Having the pool was an added bonus and we swam every day. Olivier and Francoise were perfect hosts, and Olivier spoke excellent English which was very handy as my French is rather basic.

We had a fantastic stay here. Francoise and Olivier went above and beyond in their efforts to ensure we had a wonderful holiday. The swimming pool was a real treat in the intense heat during the heatwave. Sitting out in the beautiful courtyard quaffing champagne every evening was heavenly. It's quiet and relaxing. Épernay is only a short 10 min drive away. Supermarket 5 mins in the car in Tous sur Marne. Could not recommend this property highly enough. Very memorable and enjoyable.
