GÎTE DE CHARME CLASSE 3 ETOILES AVEC PISCINE CHAUFFEE

This charming stone farmhouse in the quiet area of Eglise-Neuve-de-Vergt in the Dordogne is an absolute joy to stay at. It is so much more than just an ordinary gite. Located just off a little lane about a hundred metres away from the local road. It is very well equipped and the rooms are quite large, spacious and comfortable. As the nearest supermarket and restaurants are a fair way off you may need to plan your shopping well, but as it is in such a peaceful spot I believe that staying here is a lovely and extremely pleasant little bit of paradise in the French countryside.

Well equipped house with lovely pool. Good kitchen and living spaces. Attic rooms, one of which is actually a mezzanine over the lounge rather than a separate bedroom, become very warm (weather was unusually hot during our stay). Our experience was partly marred by failure of agreed arrangements for access, resulting in delayed entry (requiring phone calls and email - apology received later), and need to deal with floors that had not been swept before our arrival (no apology whatsoever).

Cette maison est spacieuse, bien équipée et paisible. Nous avons passé un agréable séjour autour de la grande piscine. Le propriétaire est très à l'écoute et également aux petits soins. Je recommande vivement.

Agréable séjour malgré le temps maussade. La maison dispose de tout le confort nécessaire et très agréable à vivre. Le cadre verdoyant est propice à la détente et au ressourcement. La literie est très confortable et les serviettes de bain sont de bonne qualité..

Cette maison était tout a fait à nos attentes et très bien représentée sur le site.

We have the following comments to make 1. We had the electricity fail,. It was necessary for us to contact Corinne, She confirmed that the "trip" had worked and reset it. We had no further problem with it. 2. We assume that should we have had a problem with plumbing then we would have required to contact Corinne. No information was supplied regarding this. 3 NO information was supplied as to how to dispose of our rubbish. 4, We were concerned aboiut the unpleasant smelling water which ran down the lane- outside the entrance gate to the property. 5 We noticed that the towels nor bed linen was changed whilst we were there. At the end of the first week the beds were used by a different family. 6. Our enjoyable holiday was spoiled when ,- the night before we left - we were informed that we ha broken the alarm system on the swimming pool.' When we arrived we were not given any information regarding the pool. At no time during our stay did the alarm sound. The children were 5 years, 3 years and 10 months old. At no time were they allowed in the pool on their own. One of the adults did notice that the pipe from the pool to the alarm was disconnected. The "poolman" said it had been broken by us. We had no means of disagreeing with him as we had never received any information as to how it worked.. Corinne produce , on her phone, .the cost of a replacement. She contacted the owners- we spoke to them and agreed that as we could not prove it otherwise we would pay for a replacement from our "damage account". We asked for the old alarm so that we could have it repaired and give it to a friend who was having a pool added to their property. This was refused. We were informed that it was essential for the old one to be given to the Assurance Company in order for them to replace it. We do not agree that we should pay for the replacement as well as the Asssurance Company. We would appreciate confirmation that the full 500 euros already paid will be refunded. Please pay this into the account from which it has already been taken. I would appreciate confirmation that this has been paid - email me please. We had a great, relaxing time. Despite our plans, we rarely strayed from the house apart form the occasional trip into Périgueux (15 mins away). The house is lovely, the pool was great, very few people around. We would certainly return. Many thanks Hélène & Thierry
