"Gite de Guillemat"

The property is beautiful has everything you need. We really appreciated the air con as it was in the forties when we were there. Antonio was lovely and on hand if we needed. We visited some gorgeous places and really enjoyed the Palma Nova restaurant on the quay. We would really like to come back as in a week we couldn't visit everywhere we wanted. So we might return Antonio!!

we had a lovely stay in this cottage, it's in a quiet location but very near a good restaurant. The host couldn't be friendlier, we had everything we needed (the drier for the laundry was a nice plus). Bergerac, Bordeaux, Perigeux etc are all in easy range, the view of the vineyards amazing. A lovely house in a superb area to spend your holiday.

We had a pleasant stay in this home, it is close to the wine yards of Saint Emilion. Also Libourne is a nice town to visit. The house was fully equiped and clean. The owner is a nice and helpfull person.

Very clean pleasant gite offering a spot opposite it to rest. Nothing special to do in the closed surroundings apart canoë but great base to explore a little further: Dune de Pilat and bassin d’Arcachon, Bordeaux the oenologue tour is interesting including testings, Montbazillac and Saint Emilion without missing the historique part of Bergerac. Very good holidays week. The owner is very cheerful.

Beautifully restored house in a rural setting, well maintained, well equipped and comfortable. The owner, Antonio, was most obliging and helpful. When we asked about the advertised bicycles, it transpired there is an error/misunderstanding in the website description. Bicycles are available for hire locally - he has asked his agency to make the change but it hasn't worked its way over to this site. However, he went out of his way to source some bicycles for our use at no charge. I would have no hesitation in either returning to this house, or recommending it to anyone else. There is a decent restaurant on the riverside in the village which is open all day. Right next door is a kayaking centre, my husband and daughter had an enjoyable two hour trip. The nearest ATM turned out to be a short distance away in Gensac, although we didn't find it until day 8! Local supermarket (Carrefour Contact) is about 5km away at Les Reaux, it has a very good range of products and everything you might need. Days out. Remains of Roman villa at Montcaret - lovely mosaics and a small exhibition area is currently under construction. Port Sainte Foy contains many buildings from the 16th century and is very interesting architecturally. Good places to eat too. Bergerac is well worth a visit, another mediaeval city, buzzing and lively. We took a boat trip which described some of the buildings and took us as far as the Eiffel bridge. Our longest day trip was to the unmissable Veziere valley, where there are many prehistoric painted caves including the most well known, Lascaux.
