😊: Incredible host - kind and friendly. The apartment itself was very comfortable and clean, with really nice furnishings. We were given some of the owner's cheese and some Easter chocolate upon arrival (thank you!) as well as an introduction to the area and some recommendations. The bathroom was really clean and the kitchen was well equipped, and the private parking was a big plus. The location is perfect - nestled in a quiet wine and cheese village, and only a 5 minute drive from the town of Sancerre. Lovely and quiet at night with some village energy during the day. Genuinely can't fault this lovely little gîte.. 😢: Struggling to think of anything. I suppose the mattress on the bed was very firm which may be an issue for some people?.

😊: Great location in the sweet village of Chavignol, very close to Sancerre. Beautiful views of idyllic vineyards.. 😢: Quite a small kitchen but it was manageable..

😊: We stayed here for one night (with our dog) and really enjoyed it. Very spacious, clean, comfortable and a really lovely village location. The parking outside the front door was an added bonus. Would highly recommend, and would definitely stay again.. 😢: No negatives, all good!.

😊: Beautiful little town, and the apartment delightful. Clean, roomy, nice bathroom. Great location athough most everything was closed on the Sunday/Monday we were there.. 😢: More explicit directions would have been good. I put the address into the GPS, thinking this was Sancerre, but it isn't, it's a town called CHAVIGNOL, more an adjacent village and it took us all over the area until we were stuck in a crossroad of narrow narrow streets. I called the hosts, who only speak French and I speak little. I translated a text and sent it and we got another set of directions, taking us a cheese shop, but turned out there were two cheese shops, so we were in the wrong one. Nice shop owner called the hosts and off again we went and did find the right location with friendly host waiting for us to show how to access keys. The apartment is located UP a very very narrow set of stairs, which was hard for a person with bad knees and hauling up the luggage difficult. The bedroom was located up another even steeper set of stairs to an A frame room - adorable, but hard to stand up in without hitting one's head. I don't remember these attributes being disclosed in the description. A darling place for much younger people - in their 20's - 40's, not in 70's to nearly 80's. The heater controls needed instructions. It was very cold and we could figure out how to get the heater on for one hour at a time. I wouldn't stay here again, but only because my husband has bad knees and is tall. It's really a sweet apartment, once you can find it, for a younger clientele..
